Bradford County Court News 6/29/2013

District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Angelo Johnson, 48, Towanda, PA, was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a fine of $250.00, for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property. Trooper Nathan Lewis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Johnson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Antonio J. Hawley, 20, Dushore, PA, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for a term of 14 days to 18 months, with credit for 30 days incarceration already served and Probation for the balance of the sentence. Trooper John Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hawley following investigation of an incident that occurred in New Albany Borough.

Zachary Stell, 26, Myrtle Beach, SC, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for a term of 24 months, with 83 days incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility followed by probation for the remainder of the term, for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Trespass. Stell was also ordered to pay fines totaling $1,000 and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months with suspension for an additional 18 months for refusal to submit to blood testing at the time of his arrest. Officers Derek Watkins and Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Stell for the offenses in January and March 2013.

Douglas P. Pierce, 42, Monroeton, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one month to six months, and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Pierce will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Trooper John Kern of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Pierce for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township.

Charles H. Weaver, 40, Waverly, NY, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 24 months, and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Weaver will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Weaver for the offense in December 2012.

Juan C. Sanchez-Lopez, 24, no permanent address, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one week to 45 days, and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Sanchez-Lopez will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer Josh Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Sanchez-Lopez for the offense in April 2013.

District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently entered guilty pleas in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Rebecca Carson, entered a plea of guilty to Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Carson will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department.

Ashly Hamilton, 21, Elmira, NY, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Cocaine. Hamilton will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Hamilton for the offense in 2011.

Christina Paris, 21, Wyalusing, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Bath Salts). Paris will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. An agent of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Paris for the offense in June 2012 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Jean Evelyn Lane, 41, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Default in Required Appearance. Lane will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Deputy Daniel Bush of the Bradford County Sheriff's Department arrested Lane for the offense in February 2013.

Christina Paris, 21, Wyalusing, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Providing False ID to Law Enforcement. Paris will be sentenced on 18 July 2013. Trooper Joshua Thompson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Paris for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Township.

David S. Parker, 20, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Trespassing, a summary violation, and was immediately sentenced to pay a fine of $150.00 and court costs.

Chris Toth, 47, Canton, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft By Unlawful Taking. Toth will be sentenced on July 18, 2013.Trooper John Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Toth for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Canton Township.

Antonio James Hawley, 20, Dushore, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault. Trooper John Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hawley for the offense.

Jason F. Nichols, 35, Nichols, NY, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Arson (Reckless Burning). Nichols will be sentenced on July 18, 2013. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Nichols for the offense in February 2013.

Gerald E. Sutton, 47, Towanda, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Sutton will be sentenced on July 18, 2012. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sutton for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Kent W. Reynolds, 47, Plainfield, CT, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Reynolds will be sentenced on July 18, 2013. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Reynolds for the offense in March 2013.

Charles B. Raupers, 22, Towanda, PA, entered pleas of guilty to the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Give Information and Aid at Scene of an Accident. Raupers will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officers Rich Horton and George Nichols of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Raupers for the offenses in March 2013.

Julia M. McGinnis, 31, Lowman, NY, entered plea of guilty to the offense of Retail Theft. McGinnis will be sentenced on June 20, 2012. Sergeant Daniel Thomas of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested McGinnis for the offense in March 2013.

William H. McClintic, 20, Monroeton, PA, entered plea of guilty to the offense of Simple Assault. McClintic will be sentenced on July 18, 2013. Sergeant Daniel Thomas of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested McGinnis for the offense in March 2013.

Keith B. Hall, 39, Ulster, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Oxycodone). Hall will be sentenced on July 18, 2013. An Agent of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Hall for the offenses in November 2012 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following person was recently placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Lorraine Felton, 64, Towanda, PA, charged with the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance in December 2011 by an Agent of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation Felton will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Felton must perform community service and undergo a Drug and Alcohol evaluation as conditions of ARD placement.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Tammie Bailey, 32, Roaring Branch, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one month to 18 months for the offense of Recklessly Endangering Another Person. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bailey following investigation of an incident that occurred in Canton Township.

Shawn Leiser, 39, Towanda, PA, was resentenced, following revocation of his original sentence of probation for violation of probation conditions, to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 61 days to 12 months, and a fine of $250, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Trooper Joshua Fisher of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Leiser in June 2012 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Eric Waters, 21, Sayre, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from seven days to six months, and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Waters will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Waters for the offense in June 2011.

Carole Hobday, 53, Athens, PA, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months with seven days imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility and the remainder of the term on probation, and a fine of $300.00, for the offense of Retail Theft. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hobday in December 2012 following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Joshua A. Goodwin, 30, Rome, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to six months, and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Goodwin will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Trooper John Youngblood of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Goodwin for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Orwell Township.

Reginald Jackson, 50, Binghamton, NY, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months with 30 days imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility and the remainder of the term on probation, for the offenses of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Theft From a Motor Vehicle. Jackson was also ordered to pay fines totaling $1,300 and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 18 months. Troopers James Dughi and George Layou of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jackson for the offenses following investigation of incidents that occurred in Wysox Township.

Natasha L. Watkins, 24, Columbia Cross Roads, PA, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one month to 18 months, and probation for a term of 12 months, for the offenses of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Watkins was also ordered to pay fines totaling $500 and she will lose her Pennsylvania driving privilege for six months. Sergeant Daniel Reynolds of the Sayre Borough Police Department and Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Watkins for the offenses in August and October 2010, respectively.

Keighley Park, 27, Cortland, NY, was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for 12 months, and a fine of $150, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. An Agent of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Park for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Franklin Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons entered guilty pleas recently in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Brandon J. Wright, 28, Sayre, PA, entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of Burglary and Retail Theft. Wright will be sentenced on July 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officers Roger Clink and Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Wright for the offenses following investigation of incidents that occurred in Ulster Township in January and February 2012.

Barry Ford, 49, Ulster, PA, entered pleas of guilty to two counts of the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Ford will be sentenced on July 15, 2013, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Troopers Anthony Stempien and Jeffrey Creedon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wright for the offenses in November 2012 and February 2013, respectively, following investigation of incidents that occurred in Ulster Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Mark W. Bowen, 31, Towanda, PA, charged with the offense of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in February 2013 by Trooper Wayne Dunkling of the Pennsylvania State Police, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Bowen will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use.

Additionally, Bowen must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel as conditions of ARD placement; he will also lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days.
