Police investigate access device fraud

State police at Towanda are investigating an access device fraud incident in Litchfield Township.

According to state police, an unknown actor or actors accessed the credit card account of an Athens female online between Feb. 6 and March 12. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.

Shotgun found in Warren Twp.

State police found a 12 gauge Remington shotgun at the State Game Lands on Reagan Hill Road in Warren Township, Friday, and are searching for its owner.

Home break-in

The home of a 77-year-old male from Mechanicsburg was broken into sometime between Dec. 7, 2013 and April 18, according to state police.

Police said the burglar removed copper piping from the basement and damaged other items before fleeing in an unknown direction by unknown means.

The investigation is continuing.

Rubbish scattered

Sometime between the dates of April 11 and April 13, police said an unknown person or persons deposited three used truck tires into the outlet of a pond on Doc Lee Road in Warren Township.

Child assaulted

State police are investigating the report of an alleged assault on a five-year-old male victim by a woman that occurred in Orwell Twp. Police did not specify the date or time of the incident.

Four charged with underage drinking in Wyalusing

Justin Ervin Griffith, 18, of New Albany, Timothy Allen Kelley, 18, of Laceyville, Daniel Ira Edsell, 18, of Stevensville and a 17-year-old male from Wyalusing have been charged with underage drinking relating to a party on Saturday on the 2500 block of Brewer Hollow Road in Wyalusing Township.

According to police, the individuals admitted to drinking and had two coolers full of alcoholic beverages in their possession.

Police said charges were filed through the courtroom of Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

Vandalism investigation in Rome Borough

State police are investigating the report of vandalism that occurred between April 4 and April 6 on State Route 187 in Rome Borough.

According to police, an unknown person threw a rock through the window of a skidsteer, causing approximately $500 in damage.

Towanda man injured in motorcycle accident

Motorcyclist Brian L. Hall, 42, of Towanda suffered moderate injuries in a recent accident in Towanda Township, according to the state police.

The accident occurred at 8:02 p.m. on May 7, as Hall was entering Plank Road from a driveway, state police said.

Hall accelerated on his 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle at an unsafe speed, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and fall, police said.

Hall suffered moderate injuries, due to his not wearing a helmet, state police at Towanda said.

Hall was transported to Memorial Hospital in Towanda for treatment, police said.

Hall was cited for failure to wear a motorcycle helmet and for moving stopped or parked vehicle, police said.

Towanda man accused of harassment

Kyle A. Oliver, 26, of Towanda subjected a 30-year-old Ulster man to physical contact at a Dandy Mini Mart on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, police said.

The incident occurred at 8:07 a.m. on May 7, state police at Towanda said.

As a result of this incident, a citation for the summary offense of harassment is pending against Oliver, state police said.

Burglary occurs in Wysox Township

State police said they are trying to determine who entered a garage on Bozman Lane in Wysox Township and stole two crossbows.

The incident occurred sometime between March 18 and April 12, police said.

"Your name is not required, just your information," the state police said in a press release that they issued about the incident. "Up to $2,000 cash reward if your information results in an arrest."

Canton woman injured in N. Towanda accident

A Canton woman suffered a minor injury in a recent motor vehicle accident on U.S. Route 220 in North Towanda Township, police said.

The accident occurred at 2:08 p.m. Saturday, as Daniel R. Farrell of Columbia Cross Roads was traveling south on Route 220 in a 2003 Subaru Outback, police said.

Farrell, 61, traveled past the Troy/Towanda exit and realized he missed the exit, police said.

Farrell then pulled onto the shoulder of the southbound lane and attempted to turn the vehicle around to head north, police said.

As Farrell was attempting to turn his vehicle around, it was struck by a 2013 Toyota Prius, which was traveling south on Route 220, police said.

Michelle S. High, 48, of Canton, who was operating the Toyota Prius, suffered a minor injury, state police said.

Farrell was uninjured, police said.

Farrell was charged with careless driving, state police said.

No charges were filed against High, police said.

Arrest made in N. Towanda

James Robert Surface, 39, of Welch, W.Va., was arrested in North Towanda Township after it was discovered that he was wanted in the state of Utah, police said.

The arrest occurred on April 19 at a location on Hemlock Road, state police at Towanda said.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Scott Michael Cotter, 28, of Milan, by Athens Borough police, on May 4, on South Main Street in Athens. Cotter has also been charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license, driving without a valid license, speeding and failure to keep right. A blood test determined that Cotter's blood alcohol content was .19 percent on the day of his arrest. Cotter has been sent a summons to appear June 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Shauntel Lee Place, 49, of Sayre, by Athens Township police, on May 2, on White Wagon Road in Athens Township. Place has also been charged with failure to keep right and failure to stop at a stop sign. A blood test determined that Place's blood alcohol content was .19 percent on the day of her arrest. Place has been sent a summons to appear June 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Reminton T. Wheeler, 22, of Owego, by Athens Borough police, on April 27, on Laurel Street in Athens. Wheeler has also been charged with failure to keep right, violation of required position and method of turning and failure to use turn signals. A blood test revealed that Wheeler's blood alcohol content was .11 percent on the day of his arrest. Wheeler has been sent a summons to appear June 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Cody Alan Rosich, 30, of Athens, by Athens Borough police, on April 18, on North Main Street in Athens. Rosich has also been charged with illegally operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, failure to keep right and careless driving. A blood test revealed that Rosich's blood alcohol content was .22 percent on the day of his arrest. Rosich has been sent a summons to appear June 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Wendy Lynn Barrows, 32, of Athens, by Sayre Borough police, on April 13, on Cayuta Street in Sayre. A blood test revealed that Barrows' blood alcohol content was .13 percent on the day of her arrest. Barrows has been sent a summons to appear June 10 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.

Jared Edwin Hoffmire, 36, of Rome, by state police, on April 7, on Cotton Hollow Road in Litchfield Township. Hoffmire has also been charged with disregarding a traffic lane and careless driving. Hoffmire will appear at a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton at a later date.
