Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently entered guilty pleas and were sentenced in Bradford County Magisterial District Courts:

Zachary Lee Hulsey, 21, Binghamton, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Absconding Witness, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to 26 days time served, and court costs. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hulsey for the offense.

James Burlow, 48, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the third degree and was sentenced to a fine of $250, and court costs. Trooper Anthony Stempien of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Burlow for the offense in September, following investigation of a Theft that occurred in Wysox Township. Burlow incurred a felony parole violation for the offense and was incarcerated for six additional months in the federal system.

Jeffrey Roberts, 24, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to nine days and court costs.

Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Roberts for the offense on April 28, 2014, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Sayre Borough.

Joshua Bowman, 32, Waverly, N.Y., entered pleas of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of False ID to Police, a misdemeanor of the third degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, also a misdemeanor, and court costs. Officers Tom VanFleet and Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Bowman for the offenses in February and April, following investigation of a False ID that occurred in Athens Township.

David Callear, 53, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced to a fine of $300, and court costs. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Callear for the offense on Feb. 23, 2014, following investigation of a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia that occurred in Athens Township.

Frank Fee, 39, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton to the offense of Harassment, a summary offense and was sentenced to court costs. Corporal Norman Strauss the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Fee for the offense on Feb. 21, 2014, following investigation of a Harassment that occurred in Wysox Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Cricket Grover, 25, Monroeton, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of probation a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 10 months to 36 months, and a fine of $200, for the offense of Contraband, a felony of the second degree. Trooper Thad Warnick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Grover following investigation of an incident that occurred in West Burlington Township.

Howard D. Freeman, 55, New Albany, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from two months to 23 months, after the 23 months; Freeman will be under probation supervision for 12 months, and a fine of $300, for the offense of Indecent Assault, Freeman is required to register as a sex offender for his lifetime as a consequence of his sentence. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Freeman following investigation of an incident that occurred in Albany Township.

Travis Taylor, 20, Wyalusing, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 47 days to 17 months, he was also ordered to pay restitution of $27,099.86 and a fine of $5000, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offenses of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Michael Tribendis of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Taylor following investigation of an incident that occurred in Standing Stone Township.

Howard Freeman, 54, New Albany, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to six months and a fine of $500; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Freeman following investigation of an incident that occurred in Albany Township.

Lacey Benson, 24, Canton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from one months to 23 months, followed by probation for a term of one year and a fine of $500; she will also lose her driver's license for 12 months for the offenses of Fleeing and Eluding, a felony of the third degree and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Trey Kurtz of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Benson for the offense on Oct. 16, 2013.

James Place, 40, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 42 days, followed by County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months and a fine of $200, for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Place following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township on July 4, 2013.

Eric Hughes, 25, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to six months and a fine of $500; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Peter Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hughes following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township.

Jack Talada Jr., 36, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 10 days to six months and a fine of $1000; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, an additional license suspension of 12 months will be imposed for refusal to submit to testing when arrested for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Talada for the offense on Sept. 29, 2013.

Mark Hoffa, 56, of Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of six months and a fine of $300, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Hoffa for the offense on Nov. 22, 2013.

Howard Freeman, 54, New Albany, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Freeman will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Freeman following investigation of an incident that occurred in Albany Township.

Mark Hoffa, 56, Montrose, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Hoffa will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Hoffa for the offense on Nov. 22, 2013.

John Peters, 46, Avoca, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Peters will be sentenced on June 26, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Peters for the offense on Nov. 10, 2013.

Curtis Carnrike, 22, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Public Drunkenness, summary offenses. Carnrike will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Carnrike for the offense in December 2013.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel Barrett reported that the following people were placed on ARD recently in the Court of Common Pleas:

Roman Grieco, 34, Barton, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Grieco will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Grieco must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Dec. 8, 2013 for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Joshua Vanderpool, 25, Rome, Pa., charged with the offense of Fleeing and Eluding, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Vanderpool will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Vanderpool must perform community service, and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 12 months. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 17, 2013 for the offense in Athens Township.

Tabitha Ackley, 33, Towanda, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Ackley will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Ackley must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and she will lose her Pennsylvania Driving Privilege for 60 days. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Ackley for the offense on Jan. 26, 2014 in Wysox Township.

Joshua Pond, 27, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation Pond will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Pond must perform community service, and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 27, 2013 for the offense in Athens Township.

Patrick Shultz, 20, Troy, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Shultz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Shultz must perform community service, and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Michael Northrup of the Troy Borough Police Department filed the charges on Dec. 16, 2013 for the offense in Troy Borough.

Curtis Carnrike, 22, Athens, Pa., charged with the offense of Criminal Trespass, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Carnrike will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Carnrike must perform community service for 40 hours. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Dec. 20, 2013 for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Richard Redman, 49, Scio, Ohio, was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from three days to six months, and a fine of $750, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Trooper David Sweeney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Redman for the offense following investigation of an accident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Tyler Sibley, 20, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 12 months and a fine of $200, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sibley following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Rhonda Ham, 48, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 90 days, and a fine of $500, she will also lose her driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving while license suspended for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Ham for the offense in November.

Joshua D. Alliger, 27, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in a Pennsylvania Correctional Facility for 28 months to 15 years, and a fine of $2000, for the offense of Statutory Sexual Assault, there were two cases.

Officer Timothy Cahill of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Alliger for the offense in April 2013.

Officer Daniel Thomas of the Athens Township Police arrested Alliger for the Athens Township offenses.

Alliger will be required to register as a convicted sex offender and will be required to maintain and update registry for his lifetime.

Seth Whitfield, 25, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months and a fine of $1000.00, for the offense of Marijuana Possession and Paraphernalia Possession. Trooper Michael Moser of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Whitfield following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township. The sentence was imposed as consecutive to pending New York offenses.

Jerry Winebarger, 54, Canton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to 12 months, and a fine of $300, for the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officer Joshua Heckman of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Winebarger for the offense on Aug. 25, 2013.

Gregory McKernan, 50, Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of six months, and a fine of $300, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested McKernan following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Stanley Rice, 24, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 70 days to 23 months, 29 days, restitution of $801.23 and a fine of $100, for the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Criminal Mischief, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Nathan Ross of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Rice for the offense on Jan. 22, 2012.

Dennis Manuel, 38, New Albany, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four days to six months, and a fine of $1000, he will also lose his driver license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Joshua Thompson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Manuel for the offense following investigation of an accident that occurred in New Albany Borough on Aug. 13, 2011.

Raymond Pace, 29, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 23 months, 29 days, he was also ordered to pay restitution of $2571.07, and a fine of $1000, for the offense of Theft of leased Property, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking, also a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Pace for the offense on Jan. 30, 2014. Trooper Christopher Shelley of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Pace following investigation of an accident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Nicole Northrop, 26, Granville Summit, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of probation to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 60 days to 23 months 29 days and a fine of $100 for the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper David Pelachick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Northrop following investigation of an incident that occurred in Granville Township on April 2, 2014.

Leah Maleski, 42, Sugar Run, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 30 days to six months, and a fine of $750, she will also lose her driver license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Maleski for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Borough on Sept. 28, 2013.

Jennifer Devine, 40, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 60 days followed by County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months, including eight months on the electronic monitor, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Devine for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons recently entered pleas of guilty in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

William Wilkinson, 25, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Recklessly Endangering another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Wilkinson will be sentenced on June 30, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Wilkinson for the offense on Dec. 28, 2013.

Jennifer Devine, 40, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a felony. Devine will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Devine for the offense following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Robert Lee Bump, 39, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance (MDPV or "bath salts") and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Bump will be sentenced in June 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Corporal Douglas Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bump after police found the contraband in Bump's pockets after Bump was arrested on other charges.

Jason Brown, 40, Athens, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Brown will be sentenced on July 10, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Brown for the offense in September.

Matthew Deputy, 25, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and Recklessly Endangering another person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Deputy will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Mark Sadowski of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Deputy following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Rhonda Ham, 48, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving while under DUI suspension.

Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Ham for the offense in November.

Andrew Shipman, 33, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Shipman will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Shipman for the offense in December.

Kyle Potter, 23, Chemung, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Potter will be sentenced in June, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Potter for the offense in August 2013.

Jeffrey Lacoe, 31, Clarks Summit, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Lacoe will be sentenced in June 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lacoe following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township.

William Kinlaw, 30, Huntington, Pa., entered a nolo contendere to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Kinlaw will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Peter Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kinlaw following investigation of an incident that occurred in Canton Township on Dec. 25, 2013.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently received ARD in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Daniel Vavra, 42, Athens, Pa., charged with the offense of Criminal Trespass, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation Vavra will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use.

Additionally, Vavra must perform 40 hours of community service and pay restitution of $3929.54 and court costs.

Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Oct. 17, 2013 for the offense in Athens Township.

Jeremy Williams, 36, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Simple Assault, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of six months. While on probation Williams will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use.

Additionally, Williams must perform 40 hours of community service and pay restitution and court costs.

Sergeant Keith Stackhouse of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges on Feb. 12, 2014, for the offense in Athens Township.

Amber Hoover, 19, Laceyville, Pa., charged with the offense of Theft from a Motor Vehicle, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of three months. While on probation Hoover will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Hoover must perform 20 hours of community service and pay restitution of $150, and court costs. Trooper Kevin Hibson of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hoover for the offense on Sept. 2, 2013 in Rome Borough.
