Bradford County Court News 6/1/2014

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Dustin Westbrook, 29, Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 130 days to six months, and a fine of $1750, he will also lose his driver's license for 24 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor and Driving under Suspension-DUI related, a summary offense. Trooper Christopher Stecik of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Westbrook following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Stanley Butler, 45, Canton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 18 months to 42 months and a fine of $3000, he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months for the offenses of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Mark Sadowski and Trooper David Kittle of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Butler following investigation of an incident that occurred in Canton Township.

Mathew Williams, 34, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to probation for a term of 12 months, and a fine of $300, for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Sean Flynn of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Williams for the offense on Nov. 11, 2013.

Anthony Coniglio, 30, Waverly, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 90 days to six months and a fine of $1500, he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Derek Watkins of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Coniglio for the offense on Dec. 29, 2013.

Cody Varga, 26, Barton, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 90 days to 18 months, and a fine of $1500, he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer George Nichols of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Varga for the offense on Aug. 18, 2013.

Michelle Sampson, 27, Canton, Pa., was resentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five months to 18 months, followed by probation for 18 months, and a fine of $1000, for the offenses of two counts of Theft by Deception, a misdemeanor of the first degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sampson following investigation of an incident.

Garrett Dauberman, 26, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 18 months and a fine of $600 for the offense of two counts of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Daniel Thomas and Officer John Fedorchak of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Dauberman for the offense on Dec. 13, 2013 and Jan. 1, 2014.

Joshua Kinner, 27, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from seven months to 26 months, and a fine of $500, for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree and an Indirect Contempt. Trooper Matthew Grebeck of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Kinner following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Leslie Palumbo, 46, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to six months and a fine of $400; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Officer Cody Welch of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Palumbo for the offense in September.

District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett announced that the following persons recently were placed in the ARD program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Ashley Pollux, 25, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Theft, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of eight months. While on probation, Pollux will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Pollux must perform community service, and pay restitution of $220. Officer Steven Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Jan. 13, 2014 for the offense in Sayre Borough.

Jason Van Dyke, 41, Sayre, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation VanDyke will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, VanDyke must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Derrek Dekar of the Athens Police Department filed the charges on March 1, 2014 for the offense in Athens Borough.
