Man charged with unauthorized use

Glen Woleslagle, 37, of 220 Sleepy Hollow Lane, Monroeton, faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. July 17, before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on charges of unauthorized use of automobiles and other vehicles and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked for an incident that occurred around 1 a.m. June 2 at the intersection of Pension and Simpson roads in West Burlington Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Woleslagle operated a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire without the consent of the owner, who is his father, Duane Woleslagle, no age or address given.

In an affidavit, police said Glen Woleslagle drove off the road into a field, attempted to get back on the road, became stuck in the soggy grass, and left the scene.

Wilcox said he was sent a summons.

Man waives hearing

Gary Lynn Gerow, 25, of 360 E. Main St., Canton, has waived his preliminary hearing on a drug paraphernalia charge to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, according to the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Court papers note that Gerow possessed, with the intent to use, drug paraphernalia on June 20 at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, where he turned his pockets inside out, and police observed a blue wax bag crumbled up in his hand. Canton Police Officer Trey Kurtz said that he knew, from his training and experience, that blue wax bags are used to contain and transport controlled substances.

Man waives hearing on indecent assault charge

Abraham Thomas Root, 37, of 3363 Ayres Road, Gillett, has waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of indecent assault to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, according to the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Court papers note that Root is accused of having indecent contact with a 13-year-old Canton resident.

According to an affidavit, the investigation began when Bradford County Children and Youth Services sent state police at Towanda a report of suspected child abuse. The report indicated that the victim disclosed that the incident occurred when he was at the demolition derby at the Troy Fair in 2010.

Root initially denied the allegations and stated that he was so drunk that night, he have any recall of his actions, the affidavit notes.

Man waives hearing in tailgating incident

Garrett W. Starks, 34, of 150 S. Minnequa Ave., Canton, has waived his preliminary hearing on careless driving and other charges to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, according to the office of Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Court papers note that Starks is also charged with accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, disorderly conduct, failing to drive on the right half of the roadway, following too closely, and a violation of "duty to give information and render aid" for an incident that took place at 2:30 p.m. May 22 in Troy Township.

According to an affidavit, police were dispatched to a hit and run crash. Leanne Hicks, no age or address given, told police a Subaru had been tailgating her from Springfield Road near the Springfield Cemetery, after she first saw it stopped in the middle of the westbound lane with its operator, later identified as Starks, urinating outside the vehicle.

The affidavit notes that Hicks said that as she was being tailgated, she saw Starks almost hit her on four occasions. She said Starks was driving in the left lane beside her on Springfield Road, but would not pass, and he also swerved to the right, almost going into a ditch at times.

Hicks said that as she was passing the Troy Fairgrounds on Route 14, she became scared and called 911 to report an erratic driver. She hung up and pulled up to the stop sign at the intersection of Route 6, and said Starks was behind her and blew his horn. In the affidavit, Hicks said that traffic had not cleared yet, and Starks struck her in the rear bumper, got out and approached her window and started screaming at her and called her a name.

Eggs thrown

A 50-year-old Troy man told state police at Towanda that someone threw several eggs at his residence and fled in an unknown direction sometime between 9 p.m. July 9 and 6:30 a.m. July 10 on Route 6 in Troy Township.

Registration plate stolen

A 27-year-old Muncy Valley man told state police at Towanda that someone stole his registration plate from his vehicle and fled in an unknown direction sometime between 12:01 a.m. June 28 and 12:01 a.m. July 4 at a gravel parking lot on Lower Mountain Road in Canton Township.

Charges to be filed

State police at Towanda said charges will be filed in District Court against Travis James Polzella, 31, no address given, following a drug-related incident at 1:45 p.m. July 8 at the Bradford County Correctional Facility in West Burlington Township.

Police said Polzella was being incarcerated by a Pennsylvania state constable, and admitted to "shooting heroin" in the morning. According to police, a subsequent search of Polzella revealed suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Woman charged with disorderly conduct

State police at Towanda said Rebecca Ann Gordon, 32, of Gillett, was charged with one summary count of disorderly conduct following an incident at 7:37 a.m. July 8 in the 5000 block of Burlington Turnpike in Burlington Township.

Police said a 26-year-old Towanda man found her passed out asleep inside his vehicle on the property.

Gun found

State police at Towanda said a long gun was found July 6 on Ellenton Mountain Road in Canton Township.

Debit card found

State police at Towanda said a green dot Gold Visa Debit Card was found at 3:15 p.m. June 24 at the Smokin' Joe's Tobacco Shop parking lot on Route 14 in Fassett, and turned over to state police.

The owner can claim the debit card in person at the Towanda state police station.
