"He had some face and head trauma, but it was probably not life-threatening," said Canton Fire Chief J. Scott May.

The man, who is from Michigan, was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which occurred in the area of Pine Swamp Road, he said.

"It looks like he lost control on a corner, and went off the road," May said.

May said he did not know the name of the man.

The fire chief said he thought the accident occurred around 8 p.m.

No information was available from the state police on Sunday about the accident.
