Dushore woman injured in Cherry Twp. crash

A Dushore woman was transported to Memorial Hospital in Towanda after she was injured over the weekend in a motor vehicle accident in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.

The accident at 3:38 p.m. Saturday as Robert C. Symons of Larksville, Pa., was driving north on Cookhill Road, state police said.

Symons, 19, failed to negotiate a right turn and his vehicle struck a 2011 Ford Escape operated by Mary F. Renson of Dushore, police said.

Renson, 76, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital for further evaluation, state police at Laporte said.

Symons and the passengers involved in the accident were all uninjured, police said.

Symons was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, police said.

No citations or charges were filed against Renson, state police at Laporte said.
