Athens woman charged with drug possession
An Athens woman was recently charged with possession of a controlled substance by Athens Borough police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Tina Louise Luckman, 42, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Luckman was found to be in possession of several items during a June 20 meeting at her North Main Street residence with county probation officers to discuss her probation status. Police said items found in Luckman's apartment included multiple empty baggies, commonly used to package illegal narcotics; a used hypodermic needle; $3,126 in cash next to a small plastic baggie containing a white crystal-type substance believed to be bath salts or methamphetamine; two glass pipes containing burnt residue; multiple pieces of tinfoil containing burnt residue; and a second small baggie containing purported bath salts or methamphetamine.
According to police, probation officers turned the items, with the exception of the cash, over to borough police. Probation officers also took Luckman into custody for probation violations.
Luckman's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 5.
Woman charged with harassment
A Waverly woman was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of harassment.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Ashley A. Hall, 27, was arrested July 1 following a disturbance that occurred on Pembleton Place in Barton. Police said Hall is accused of threatening to strike another person during a verbal altercation.
Hall was issued a ticket to appear July 8 in Barton Town Court.
Towanda man charged with assault
Kurt E. Ritts, 48, of Towanda has been charged with resisting arrest, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment, police said.
The charges stem from a June 27 incident that occurred in a building on Main Street in Towanda, police said. A female at the scene told police that Ritts had pulled her hair, pushed her onto the ground, grabbed her arms, and slapped her in the face twice, according to the Towanda police.
As a result of the assault, the victim's face was red and there were red marks on her arms, Towanda police said.
DUIs
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Eric Lee Givens, 48, of Dushore, by the Towanda police, on June 8, on South Main Street in Towanda. A test showed the Givens' blood alcohol content on the day of his arrest was .135 percent.
David Paul Krause, 48, of Milan, by the state police, on May 30, on Milan Road in Ulster Township. The DUI charge stems from a one-vehicle accident. A test revealed the Krause's blood alcohol content on the day of his arrest was .167 percent.
