Bradford County Court News 7/13/2014

The Bradford County District Attorney, Daniel J. Barrett, reports that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Robert Lee Bump, 39, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from six months to 23 months for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia. Corporal Douglas Smith of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bump following investigation of an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township.

Christopher Sanger, 21, Laceyville, Pa., was resentenced following revocation of a sentence of Probation to a term of incarceration in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from six months to 23 months and a fine of $1000 for the offense of Burglary, a felony of the first degree. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sanger following investigation of an incident that occurred in Tuscarora Township.

Keisha Marie Castle, 24, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 24 months, for the offense of Retail Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Castle for the offense in March.

Brandon L. Teeter, 29, Beaver Dams, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from three days to six months and a fine of $1,000; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Officer Trey Kurtz of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Teeter for the offense in September.

Anita Gochenaur, 32, Sugar Run, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 72 hours to six months and a fine of $1,000; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Trooper James Dughi of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gochenaur following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Township.

William Wilkerson, 25, Wysox, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 24 months, a fine of $700; for the offense of recklessly Endangering another Person. Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Wilkerson for the offense in January.

Raymond Saxer, 36, of Ulster, Pa., was sentenced to State Intermediate Punishment for 24 months; the program includes seven months incarceration in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility, seven months or more of intensive alcohol treatment, he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months he will also be in custody for seven months or more for residential treatment, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree and Receiving Stolen Property, a felony. Trooper Michael Mislevy of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Saxer following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following people recently pled guilty in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

William Charles Harris, 24, Canton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Criminal Trespass, a felony of the third degree. Harris will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officers Joshua Heckman of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested Harris for the offense in April.

Jon Sisson, 24, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Sisson will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Sean Cooney of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sisson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Ulster Township on Dec. 20, 2013.

James M. Powell, 45, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Powell will be sentenced on Aug. 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Derek Dekar of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Powell for the offense in February.

Christine Lerardi, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Lerardi will be sentenced on Aug. 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Lerardi following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Tahmir A. Hammond, 23, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of Marijuana, a felony.

Hammond will be sentenced on Aug. 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Hammond following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Robbi Lynn White, 49, Monroeton, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. White will be sentenced in August 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested White following investigation of an incident that occurred in Franklin Township.

Timothy Ortiz, 26, Waverly, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Ortiz will be sentenced on Aug. 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer John Werner of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Ortiz for the offense in February.

Jon Sisson, 24, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, both felonies. Sisson will be sentenced, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Sisson following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Joshua Wood, 29, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Burglary, a felony. Wood will be sentenced on Aug. 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wood following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wyalusing Borough.

Joshua Wood, 29, Wyalusing, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Wood will be sentenced on Aug. 14, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Jeffrey Sredenschek of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Wood following investigation of an incident that occurred in Herrick Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program in the Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Renee Getz, 29, Mill Hall, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Getz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Getz must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel. Officer Trey Kurtz of the Canton Police Department filed the charges in March for the offense in Canton Borough.

Marie Bardell, 37, Wysox, Pa., charged with False reports to Law Enforcement Authorities and Obstructing Administration of Law or Other Governmental Facilities, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Bardell will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use.

Additionally, Bardell must perform community service. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bardell for the offense in Towanda Borough.

Mary Chepetz, 50, Milan, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Chepetz will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Chepetz must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department filed the charges in September for the offense in Athens Township.

Roger Serfas, 61, Gillett, Pa., charged with the offense of Criminal Mischief, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of nine months. While on probation, Serfas will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use.

Additionally, Serfas must perform 20 hours of community service. Trooper Jeffrey Creedon of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Serfas for the offense.
