Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons recently were sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:
Bryan Calkins, 54, Lawton, N.Y., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility to 45 days and County Intermediate Punishment for six months, he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months, and additional license suspension of 18 months will be imposed for refusal to submit to testing when arrested for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
Officer Cody Welch of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Calkins for the offense on Sept. 23, 2013.
Jason Brown, 40, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from five days to six months; he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Denny Slater of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Brown for the offense on Sept. 28, 2013.
Matthew Deputy, 25, Bedford, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from 10 days to 24 months, and followed by Probation for a term of 24 months, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the second degree and Recklessly Endangering another Person, also a misdemeanor of the second degree. Trooper Mark Steransky of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Deputy following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.
Andrew Shipman, 34, Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to six months, he will also lose his driver's license for 12 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Shipman for the offense on Dec. 1, 2013.
Jason Dunn, 32, Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to Probation for a term of 12 months for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Trooper Tyler Brackman of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Dunn following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.
Michael Burgess, 39, Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for seven days followed by County Intermediate Punishment for 12 months; he will also lose his driver's license for six months for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Officer John Hennessy of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Burgess for the offense on Feb. 13, 2013.
Christopher Carlisle, 26, Monroeton, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility of from four months to 23 months, 29 days followed by Probation for a term of one year, for the offense of three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Officers Thomas Vanfleet of the Athens Township Police Department and Officer Joshua Lake of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Carlisle for the offense on Aug. 4, 2013, and March 9, 2014. Trooper Michael Tereska of the Pennsylvania State Police also arrested Carlisle following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township on Oct. 21, 2013.
Mason K. Runyon, 18, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from two months to 13 months and a fine of $350 for the offense of Criminal Mischief and Retail Theft. Officer Richard Horton of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Runyon for the offense in January 2014. The sentence is to run consecutive to another sentence for a total of 14 months to 42 months.
Mason K. Runyon, 18, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility of from 13 months to 30 months and a fine of $2500 for the offenses of four counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude an Officer, Receiving Stolen Property, Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass. Officer Thomas Wilson of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Runyon for the offense in February 2014. The sentence is to run consecutive to another sentence for a total of 14 months to 42 months.

Justin Hover, 20, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Hover will be sentenced on Aug. 11, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Thomas VanFleet of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Hover for the offense on May 16, 2014.
Richard Johnson, 28, Towanda, Pa., entered a guilty plea to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Johnson will be sentenced on Aug. 28, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bryan Bellows of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Johnson for the offense on April 18, 2014.
Tami Bowman, 40, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Theft, a felony of the third degree.
Devine will be sentenced on Aug. 28, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Ryan Edsell of the Towanda Borough Police Department arrested Bowman for the offense in January 2014.
Christina Wheeler, 35, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Wheeler will be sentenced on Aug. 28, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Jason Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Wheeler for the offense on April 4, 2014.
Brittney Ferraro, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. Ferraro will be sentenced on July 10, 2014, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Agents of the Pennsylvania State Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested Ferraro following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township.
Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reported that the following persons were recently placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda, Pa.:
Michael Kohler, 42, Waverly, N.Y., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Kohler will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department, which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Kohler must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 60 days. Officer Jeremy Horton of the Sayre Borough Police Department filed the charges on Sept. 8, 2013 for the offense in Sayre Borough.
Joseph Buttacavoli, 68, Warren Center, Pa., charged with the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation, Buttacavoli will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Additionally, Buttacavoli must perform community service with the DUI Litter Brigade and attend a Victim Impact Panel and he will lose his Pennsylvania driving privilege for 30 days. Trooper William McDermott of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Buttacavoli for the offense in Asylum Township on March 5, 2014.
