Local residents accused of PFA violation
Randy J. Potter, 48, of Wysox and Amanda G. Place, 44, of Towanda each violated a PFA that they had placed on each other, police said.
The violations of the protection from abuse orders occurred at 9:45 p.m. Saturday at a location in Wysox Township, state police at Towanda said.
Potter and Place were both arrested and arraigned in Towanda District Court, police said.
Burglary occurs in Monroe Twp.
A burglary has occurred at a residence on Sharcana Road in Monroe Township, police said.
The residence is owned by a 78-year-old man from Hatfield, Pa., police said.
Sometime between June 4 and June 21, someone entered the residence and stole a corded electric drill, state police said.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186 or 800-4-PA-TIPS.
"(Your name is) not required, just your information. Up to $2,000 cash reward if your information results in an arrest," the state police wrote in a press release that they issued on Monday about the burglary.
Criminal mischief occurs in Wysox Twp.
State police said they are trying to find out who smashed a side window of a vehicle, which is owned by Adroit Field Services, in Wysox Township.
The criminal mischief occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday at Adroit Field Services at 24404 state Route 187, police said.

"(Your name is) not required, just your information. Anonymous tips may pay up to $2,000," the state police wrote in a press release that they issued about the incident.
Towanda residents charged with possession of drug paraphernalia
Towanda residents Paul Henry Dodd and Nancy Rebecca Benjamin were both recently charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Dodd, 39, and Benjamin, 24, were in possession of syringes, metal spoons with residue, pipes and other drug paraphernalia, police said.
Some of the drug paraphernalia was found in their home on July 8 when a state parole agent came to the residence to check on Benjamin, police said.
Towanda police, who were then called to the scene, received permission from Dodd to search the residence, and more drug paraphernalia was found, according to the Towanda police.
Dodd and Benjamin were also charged with the first-degree misdemeanor of possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, because a large metal knife, commonly called a "butterfly knife," was found in their residence, police said.
Dodd and Benjamin have been sent summonses which order them to appear for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 30 in Towanda District Court.
DUI charges
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Thomas Andrew Cotter, 54, of Milan, by state police, on May 24, on State Route 220 at Milan Road in Ulster Township. A blood alcohol test revealed that Cotter's blood alcohol content was .178 percent on the day of his arrest.
Kaleb Michael Whyte, 23, of Monroeton, by state police, on June 30, on Overton Road in Albany Township. Whyte refused to submit to a blood alcohol test.
Christopher William Allen, 19, of Athens, by state police, on June 7, on State Route 220 in North Towanda Township. A blood test revealed that Allen had marijuana in his body on the day of his arrest. Allen was also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a pipe with marijuana residue was found inside of his vehicle.
Valeriano Chavez Rubio, 46, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, by state police, on July 5, on State Route 220 in Albany Township. Rubio exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol on the day of his arrest.
William Joseph Weidman, 31, of New Albany, by state police, on May 23, on Beebe Road in Overton Township. A blood alcohol test revealed that Weidman's blood alcohol content was .16 percent on the day of his arrest. Weidman was arrested after he crashed his ATV and received moderate injuries. He also faces charges relating to driving an ATV on a public roadway.
Beverly Ann Moton, 51, of Wysox, by Towanda police, on June 9, in the Burger King parking lot on Main Street in Towanda. A blood test revealed that Moton's blood alcohol content was .24 percent on the day of his arrest.
Caleb J. Quelle, 25, of Withee, Wisc., by Athens Township police, on July 14, on Elmira Street in Athens Township. Quelle has also been charged with driving without a valid license. Quelle refused to submit to a blood alcohol test to determine his blood alcohol content. Quelle was arraigned July 15 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. Quelle is scheduled to appear July 23 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Police sting drug dealer
Dakota Dean Hinkley, 19, of Monroeton was recently charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility.
According to police, Hinkley sold six Klonopin pills to a confidential informant on August 3, 2012 in a parking lot on York Avenue in Towanda.
During Hinkley's arraignment he was released on non-monetary bail and scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on July 17 for a preliminary hearing.
Woman poses as police officer
Brooke Nicole Maloney, 18, of Towanda has been charged with false impersonation of a privately employed person, impersonating a public servant and disorderly conduct relating to a June 25 incident on Lombard Street in Towanda.
According to police, Maloney went to the front door of a private residence on Lombard Street and announced herself as a police officer and demanded the door be opened.
Maloney has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Aug. 7 for a preliminary hearing.
Man charged with resisting arrest
A Towanda man was recently charged with resisting arrest by Sayre Borough police.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Thomas G. Shock, 37, was also charged with public drunkenness.
Police said Shock was found laying in the middle of South Higgins Avenue at about 6 a.m. July 5. Police said Shock, who admitted to using bath salts prior to the incident, attempted to run from officers. Officers deployed a stun gun on Shock twice, police said.
Shock's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 13.
Police investigate MVA
State police at Towanda recently investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident in Sheshequin Township.
According to information from state police, a 1999 Dodge Durango operated by Sara M. Pertnoy, 26, of Waverly, was traveling west on Bradley Road when she lost control of the vehicle at about 7:45 a.m. July 10. The vehicle struck an embankment and flipped onto its driver's side, police said.
Pertnoy suffered moderate injury, but was not transported to a hospital by ambulance, police said. A passenger, Jorge A. Garcia Jr., 27, of Waverly, was not injured, police said. Both Pertnoy and Garcia wore seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Police charged Pertnoy with speeding, according to police.
Man charged with theft of services
A man was recently charged with theft of services by state police.
According to information from state police at Towanda, Michael Peaslee, 18, no address given, was charged following a July 7 taxi ride to a location on Doty Hill Road in Ridgebury Township. Police said Peaslee was unable to pay a $19 fare at the end of the transport.
Public drunkenness charge
State police at Towanda recently filed a public drunkenness charge against an Ulster man.
According to state police information, police filed charged against Noel Schad, 42, after he was observed lying in the yard of the Ulster post office on Route 220 at about 5 p.m. July 3. Schad appeared to be intoxicated, police said.
Disorderly conduct charge
A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police on a charge of disorderly conduct.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Scott Jeffrey Lane, 35, was also charged with careless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving without lights to avoid identification or arrest, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.
Police said Lane led police on a vehicle and foot chase following an attempted traffic stop May 4 on Bradford Street.
Lane was arraigned July 12 and released from the Bradford County Jail on non-monetary bail. Lane's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.
Man charged with conspiracy
An Athens man was recently charged with criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft by Athens Township police.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Gregg David Evans, 25, assisted in a June 26 theft at the Tops supermarket on Elmira Street.
Evans' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 13.
Sayre man arrested for rape
A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police on a charge of rape by forcible compulsion.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Holden M. Taylor, 18, was also charged with corruption of minors and possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Taylor had unwanted sexual contact with a 17-year-old female July 12 at a borough residence. Upon searching the residence, officers found 13 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, police said.
Taylor was arraigned July 12 by Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $55,000 bail. Taylor's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16.
Man charged with fleeing police
An Athens man was recently charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer by Sayre Borough police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Peter James Rosenberger, 29, was also charged with four counts of failure to stop at a stop sign and one count each of driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, reckless endangerment and failure to stop at a red light.
Police said Rosenberger led officers on a high-speed chase at about 2 a.m. July 13 through the borough and into Athens Borough. A preliminary breath test came back positive for the presence of alcohol.
Rosenberger was arraigned July 13 by Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. Rosenberger's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.
Retail theft charge
A Towanda man was recently charged with retail theft by Athens Township police.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Tony Earl Swanson, 45, was also charged with harassment by physical contact.
Police said Swanson is accused of removing $219.69 in merchandise July 13 from the Walmart store on Elmira Street. Swanson pushed a store employee out of the way during the theft, police said. Swanson's criminal history revealed several previous retail theft charges, according to police.
Swanson was arraigned July 13 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail on $20,000 bail. Swanson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.
