Two arrested for trespassing
Waverly village police recently arrested two people found to be trespassing in the private stairwell area of a Fulton Street apartment building.
According to the Waverly Police Department, on July 13, police arrested Emily Benjamin-Trout, 24, of Waverly, on a warrant from Pennsylvania. Trout was also charged with trespassing and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also arrested Marcus Smith, 22, of Sayre, on a charge of trespassing.
Smith was issued a ticket to appear July 24 in Waverly Village Court, police said. Trout-Benjamin was arraigned in Barton Town Court and was sent to the Tioga County Jail in Owego without bail.
Waverly man charged with trespassing and lewdness
A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal trespass.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Randy A. Barrowcliff, 51, was also charged with public lewdness.
Police said that at about 9:55 p.m. July 21, Barrowcliff allegedly entered the Energy Machine building on state Route 34 and refused to leave after being asked several times. Barrowcliff also urinated on the floor in front of employees, police said.
Barrowcliff was arraigned in Barton Town Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond, police said. Barrowcliff is scheduled to appear Aug. 5 in court.
Wiring theft reported
State police at Towanda are investigating the reported theft of wiring from a vehicle in Ridgebury Township.
According to state police, an unknown actor removed wiring from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Thompson Hill Road residence between 10:30 p.m. July 4 and 8 a.m. July 5.

New Albany man charged
A New Albany man was recently arrested by state police on a violation of sale or transfer of firearms.
According to state police at Towanda, Michael Longcoy, 25, was also charged with making an unsworn falsification to authorities.
Police said Longcoy filled out an application for sale or transfer of a firearm Feb. 25 at an Albany Township store and falsified the answer to a question.
Longcoy was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and released on non-monetary bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.
Charges filed in truck damage
State police at Towanda recently filed charges against a Sayre man accused of damaging a dump truck in Smithfield Township.
According to state police, Roger Eugene Plouse, 33, was charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
Police said Plouse is accused of slashing four tires, smashing a mirror and front headlamps and cutting wires on a vehicle parked at a Milan Road residence. The damage was valued at about $2,200, police said.
Handguns stolen from Wyalusing Twp. residence
State police at Towanda are investigating the theft of cash and handguns from a Wyalusing Township residence.
According to state police, between 1 and 5 p.m. July 17, an unknown actor or actors entered a Homet Heights Road residence through a locked front door, then removed an unnamed amount of currency from cups in the kitchen and three handguns from a bedroom.

Sayre business violates liquor law
The state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement recently cited a Sayre restaurant for failing to maintain complete and truthful records for a two-year period.
According to information from the bureau, Buckshots Steak and Seafood at the Hotel Bradford, located on North Thomas Avenue, was cited July 10 for the two-year period immediately preceding May 12.
The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose monetary penalties, license suspension or revocation or mandated training, according to the bureau.
Sayre man charged with DUI
State police at Towanda recently arrested a Sayre man on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
According to state police, Brandon George Seeley, 25, was found to be asleep behind the wheel of a pickup truck at about 5:18 a.m. July 4 on Aumick Road in Litchfield Township. Police said the vehicle was on the travel lane and still running, with the gear shifter in drive.
Police said Aumick displayed signs of impairment and was transported to Towanda Memorial Hospital to submit to a legal blood draw. Charges were filed in district court, police said.
No injuries in Wells Twp. MVA
State police at Towanda recently investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident in Wells Township.
According to state police, at about 3:50 a.m. July 10, a 2005 Toyota Matrix operated by Justin D. Hawley, 19, of Corning, N.Y., slid eastbound on Laurel Hill Road after Hawley lost control of the vehicle. The car then struck a parked 2009 Chevrolet Malibu on the northern side of the road, police said.
Police said Hawley wore a seatbelt and was uninjured, as were two passengers, a 15-year-old male, also of Corning, and 18-year-old Brandon M. Smith of Canton. Police cited Hawley for speeding.
Man charged with making false report
State police at Towanda recently charged an Ulster man with making a false report to law enforcement authorities.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton, Michael Allyn Harrington, 32, reported a vehicle as stolen May 24 from his Battle Creek Road residence. According to police, investigation revealed that the reported stolen vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident the previous night and that a witness saw Harrington exit the vehicle.
Harrington was sent a summons to appear Aug. 26 in district court for a preliminary hearing.
