According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, William Hamilton, 32, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, careless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and driving with a suspended license.
Police said officers began pursuing Hamilton after he was reported to be an aggressive driver in a road rage incident on Elmira Street. Police found a green Jeep operated by Hamilton traveling north on Elmira Street and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the Jeep picked up speed, police said.
Police followed the Jeep on Pleasant and Fulton streets in South Waverly and found the vehicle parked at a 45-degree angle in the southbound lane of Fulton Street, police said. The driver fled on foot, police said.
Police later found Hamilton at his Court Street residence after receiving a tip that the Jeep was often parked there, police said.
Police found a glass pipe, a bag of purported marijuana and a small jar of hash in the Jeep, police said. After receiving permission from the Jeep's owner to search the vehicle, police found no further contraband, police said.
