Trailer stolen

State police at Towanda are investigating the theft of a trailer from a construction site in Stevens Township.

According to state police, sometime between Feb. 5 and July 28, a portable illumination trailer was removed from a site on Leisure Lake Road. The stolen trailer belongs to Moran Industries of Watstown, Pa., police said.

Tunkhannock man cited in Orwell Twp. crash

State police at Towanda recently investigated a one-car motor vehicle accident in Orwell Township.

According to state police, at about 11:05 p.m. July 28, a 1994 Mazda RX-7 operated by Joseph A. Jurista, 22, of Tunkhannock, was traveling southbound on Route 187 north of Orwell Hill Road when Jurista lost control on a right curve. The vehicle spun clockwise 180 degrees, crossed the northbound lane and struck a guardrail, police said. The vehicle then continued traveling south in a backward direction and came to final rest on the west side shoulder about 100 feet south of the struck guardrail, police said.

Police cited Jurista, who was uninjured, with a violation of driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said.

State police were assisted by the Orwell Fire Department and Dave's Auto Body, police said.

Criminal trespass reported

State police at Towanda are investigating a reported incident of criminal trespassing at a Smithfield Township business.

According to state police, at about 3:30 a.m. July 24, an unknown actor or actors attempted to gain entry to the Dave's Auto Body building on Peas Hill Road. The actor or actors set off the building's alarm, then fled the scene, police said.
