Man charged with criminal contempt
A Waverly man was recently arrested by Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies on a charge of criminal contempt.
According to information from the sheriff's office, Harry S. Cohen, 47, was charged following investigation into an order of protection violation.
Cohen was arraigned in Barton Town Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $500 bail or $1,000 bond. Cohen is scheduled to reappear Aug. 5 in court.
Waverly man arrested on warrant
Tioga County, N.Y. sheriff's deputies recently arrested a Waverly man on a warrant out of Tioga County Family Court.
According to the sheriff's office, Robert H. Mann, 40, was charged with a violation of the Family Court Act.
Mann was arraigned in Waverly Village Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $500 bail or $1,000 bond. Mann is scheduled to appear in Tioga County Family Court at a later date.
Two charged with theft
Athens Township police recently charged an Athens couple with theft of property lost, mislaid or delivered.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Dylan Christopher Brown, 21, and Alisha Marie Brown, 20, were also charged with receiving stolen property.
Police said the Browns removed two dogs from the Orange Hill area after spotting them in a roadway in June. Alisha Brown told police they wanted the dogs as pets and had no intention of returning them to their owners, police said. The dogs were valued at $1,000 apiece, police said.
Both Dylan and Alisha Brown are scheduled to appear Sept. 2 at preliminary hearings before Judge Shaw.
DUI charge
The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Peter Shawn Negron, 32, of Ulster, by Athens Borough police, on June 22, on Route 220 in Athens. Negron was also charged with failure to keep right. A blood test revealed that Negron's blood alcohol content was .13 percent on the day of his arrest. Negron has been sent a summons to appear Sept. 2 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
