Hopewell
The following information was provided by the Hopewell Police Department.
- Arson: At 6:30 p.m., Aug. 16, police responded to the 1900 blk of Warren Avenue for a reported structure fire. Offenders purposely started a fire. Investigation by fire marshal.
- Assault-Aggravated: At 11:27 p.m., Aug. 12, police responded to the area of High Avenue and Berry Street for a fight in progress. Unknown offenders assaulted victim, causing a cut over the victim's eye.
- Assault-Aggravated/Domestic: At 12:30 p.m., Aug. 15, police responded to headquarters for a reported assault that occurred in the 1100 blk of W Cawson Street. Known offender threw glass at victim, cutting victim's back & was arrested.
- Burglary/Breaking And Entering/Residential: At 3 p.m., Aug. 13, police responded to the 3400 blk of Jackson Farm Road for a reported burglary. Unknown offender entered residence by forcing rear door and stole game system and handgun.
- Burglary/Breaking And Entering/Residential: At 10 p.m., Aug. 14, police responded to the 100 blk of S 8th Avenue for a reported burglary. Unknown offender entered residence by forcing window and stole tv, clothing, video games and modem.
- Burglary/Breaking And Entering/Residential: At 10 a.m., Aug. 17, police responded to the 300 blk of S 12th Avenue for a reported larceny. Known offender entered residence via unsecured window and stole cash from unsecured safe.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 12:54 p.m., Aug. 12, police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 blk of S 15th Avenue. Driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 9:17 p.m., Aug. 13, police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 blk of S 6th Avenue. Driver was found to be in possession of narcotics and was arrested.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 10:33 p.m., Aug. 14, police initiated a traffic stop in the 200 blk of Atlantic Street. Driver and passenger were found to be in possession of marijuana and were arrested.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 6:17 a.m., Aug. 15, police responded to the 3100 blk of Portsmouth Street for a reported disturbance. Known offenders were found to be in possession of marijuana and were arrested.
- Drug/Narcotic Violation: At 7:47 p.m., Aug. 17, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 blk of Winston Churchill Drive. Driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 6 p.m., Aug. 11, police responded to the 700 blk of Atwater Road for a reported larceny. Unknown offender stole an unsecured dryer from a trailer.
- Larceny-All Other Larceny: At 10 p.m., Aug. 14, police responded to the 500 blk of N 3rd Avenue in reference to a larceny. Unknown offender stole a bicycle from a residential porch.
- Larceny-theft From Building: At 9:17 p.m., Aug. 14, police responded to the 400 blk of N Main Street for a reported larceny. Known offender stole purse, which was recovered, and was arrested.
- Larceny-Theft From Building: At 2 a.m., Aug. 15, police responded to the 1200 blk of Stewart Avenue for a reported burglary. Known offenders stole cell phones, laptops, alcohol, tablet, papers and cash from residence.
- Larceny-Theft From Motor Vehicle: At 11:30 p.m., Aug. 16, police responded to the 4100 blk of Old Iron Court for a reported larceny. Unknown offender entered vehicle by breaking window and stole cash, phone and credit card.
- Robbery/Individual: At 9:27 p.m., Aug. 11, police responded to the 3100 blk of Granby Street for a reported robbery. Unknown offender robbed victim of wallet and fled in waiting vehicle.
- Robbery/Individual: At 10:29 p.m., Aug. 12, police responded to the 2300 blk of Oaklawn Boulevard for a reported robbery. Three unknown offenders, one with a black revolver, robbed victim of cash and fled.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction Of Property: At 12:21 a.m., Aug. 11, police responded to the 200 blk of S 9th Avenue for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender broke residential window with a can of food.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction Of Property: At 11:30 p.m., Aug. 14, police responded to the 1000 blk of Riverside Avenue for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender damaged a wall and broke a cabinet in a business.
- Vandalism/Damage/Destruction Of Property: At 12 p.m., Aug. 14, police responded to the 400 blk of N 10th Avenue for a reported vandalism. Unknown offender smashed in the windshield of a work truck.
