Sayre man accused of forgery
A Sayre man was recently arrested by borough police and charged with 28 counts of forgery.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Jeremy Michael Doane, 23, was also charged with one count each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Police said Doane removed personal checks from a female victim and wrote 28 of the checks to various businesses throughout the Valley throughout the month of June. The checks were written for a total of $2,940.19, police said.
Doane was arraigned July 15 and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. Doane's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.
Criminal mischief
State police at Towanda are investigating a criminal mischief incident in Springfield Township.
According to state police information, an unknown actor damaged the windshield of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked on Gobbler Lane. The incident occurred sometime between 1 p.m. June 29 and 9:30 a.m. June 30, police said.

Purse stolen from car
State police are currently investigating the theft of a purse from a motor vehicle in Warren Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, an unknown actor entered an unsecured vehicle parked at a Little Meadows Road location and removed a maroon Vera Bradley purse containing identification and credit cards. The incident occurred between June 30 and July 2, police said.

Two charged in argument
State police at Towanda recently charged two people with simple assault and harassment following an argument in Litchfield Township.
According to state police information, Barbara Jean Nusbaum, 43, and Scott Ringhiser, 35, both of Sayre, were charged following an argument June 18 while driving in the area of North Rome and Ammerman roads. The verbal argument later turned physical, police said.
Police arrest man following pursuit
Waverly village police recently arrested a Lockwood, N.Y. man following a vehicle pursuit.
According to information from village police, Aaron Matthew Fumich, 33, was charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, reckless driving, speeding, failure to yield for an emergency vehicle, failure to yield right of way, four counts of failing to stop at a stop sign and two counts of failure to use turn signals.
Police said an officer observed Fumich go through a stop sign at the intersection of Pine and Chemung streets, nearly causing a motor vehicle accident. Officers attempted to stop Fumich on Clinton Ave, but he sped up, reaching 90 miles per hour, before pulling over on Lincoln Street, police said.
According to police, Fumich yelled at officers from his vehicle, refused to exit and threw a gallon of milk at an officer. An off-duty Waverly officer was able to assist, and Fumich was pepper sprayed and removed from the vehicle, police said.
Fumich was arraigned in Barton town court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear in Waverly village court July 23.
Waverly police were assisted by the Tioga County Sheriff's Office and Greater Valley EMS, police said.
Waverly police make arrests
Waverly village police recently arrested the following people, according to information from the Waverly Police Department:
Chadwick J. Buynak, 33, of Waverly, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, aggravated driving while intoxicated, improper plates, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving without insurance and refusal to take a breath screening device, following a traffic stop.
Cody A. Ede, 24, of Waverly, for forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, following investigation into an incident in which police said he touched a 15-year-old's buttocks.
Timothy Wright, 35, of Owego, N.Y., on a warrant for inhalation of toxic vapors.
Angelique L. Goida, 22, of Waverly, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and on a warrant for the same charge, following a traffic stop.
Billie Jo Lantz, 23, of Waverly, and Lindsey L. Squires, 21, of Gillett, for trespass and harassment, following an altercation at a Clark Street residence.
Vehicle stolen in Wysox Twp.
A 25-year-old Indiana man's Jeep Laredo was stolen when it was parked at 504 Golden Mile Road in Wysox Township, police said.
The vehicle is beige and is a late 1990s model, police said.
The theft occurred sometime between noon on June 18 and 4 p.m. on June 19, state police at Towanda said.
Towanda man charged with receiving stolen property
Christopher Doug Stoudt of Towanda faces a charge of receiving stolen property after a stolen 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was found at his home, police said.
The vehicle was stolen from Action Auto Sales of Vestal, N.Y., police said.
After police saw the stolen vehicle at Stoudt's residence on June 30, they tried to arrest him, but he ran away, police said.
State police located the 27-year-old Stoudt hiding in an overgrowth area off of Elm Street in Towanda, police said.
Stoudt was arraigned by Troy Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox on June 30.
Stoudt was then sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $65,000 bail, police said.
Stoudt's preliminary hearing, which was originally scheduled for July 10 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to July 24.
Burglary in Wyalusing Township
According to state police, a Wyalusing man's barn was burglarized between the dates of July 15 and July 16 sometime between 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. at 1127 Valley View Road in Wyalusing Township.
The actors stole tools and damaged a swimming pool and a vehicle before leaving the scene, police said.

A 60-year-old male from New Albany reported to state police that a burglary took place between June 14 at 6 p.m. and June 15 at 9 a.m. on State Route 220 in Albany Township.
According to police, an unknown person entered a house on the property and removed medication before fleeing the scene.

New Albany fight leads to arrest
Gerald Marc Vargason Jr., 22, of New Albany and Chastity Ann Gowin, 31, of New Albany have both been charged with harassment relating to a verbal argument that turned physical on June 18 in New Albany.
