Vandalism occurs in Monroe Twp.

Someone broke the front windshield and rear window of a 31-year-old woman's car when it was parked in her driveway in Monroe Township, police said.

The vandalism occurred at 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Weston Road, state police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.

Smartphone stolen in Monroe Twp.

State police said they are trying to determine who stole a black and white iPhone 5c from 1576 Brocktown Rd. in Monroe Township.

The smartphone belongs to a 19-year-old Monroe Township male, police said.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.

Towanda Twp. crash leaves one with minor injury

One person suffered a minor injury in a recent motor vehicle accident on U.S. Route 220 in Towanda Township, police said.

The accident occurred as Frederick Maynard of Towanda, who was traveling north on Route 220, was attempting to make a left-hand turn into his driveway, police said.

Maynard failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and his vehicle struck the front end of a Ford F250, which was operated by 24-year-old Keith W. Kitchen III of Dushore, police said.

One person, who was a passenger in Kitchen's vehicle, suffered a minor injury, police said.

No one else was injured in the accident, which occurred at 5:09 p.m. Monday, state police at Towanda said.

Maynard, 74, was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic, police said.
