Woman injured in Wysox Twp. crash

Deborah Chilson, 49, of Towanda suffered a minor injury in a recent three-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, police said.

All three vehicles were traveling east on Route 6 when the accident occurred, police said.

Gary L. Armitage of Wysox was slowing down for traffic in front of him, and Francis Chilson of Towanda, who was traveling directly behind Armitage, was also slowing down, police said.

Tariq A. Malik of Columbia Cross Roads was unable to stop his vehicle, and the front of Malik's vehicle struck the back bumper of Francis Chilson's vehicle, which was in turn pushed into the rear of Armitage's vehicle, police said.

Deborah Chilson, who was a passenger in Francis Chilson's vehicle, was transported to Memorial Hospital in Towanda for further evaluation, police said.

None of the drivers were injured in the accident, police said. There was also a child in Francis Chilson's vehicle, but state police did not identify the child or state whether the child was injured.

Malik, 27, received a traffic citation, police said.

Francis Chilson, 55, was cited because he allowed a child under 8 years old to be transported in his vehicle without a booster seat, police said.

The accident occurred at 5:17 p.m. Friday, 230 feet east of Pennsylvania Avenue, state police at Towanda said.

Rome man accused of selling bath salts

Adam Scott Johnson, 27, of Rome is accused of selling .12 grams of bath salts to an individual at a residence on Second Street in Towanda, police said.

The incident occurred on Oct. 8, 2013, police said.

Johnson has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, state police said.

The charges against Johnson were filed on Aug. 21, 2014, state police at Towanda said.

Johnson waived his preliminary hearing, which had been scheduled for Aug. 27.

The case against Johnson has therefore been transferred to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, where Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 18.
