Pedestrian suffers major injury after being hit by car
A Columbia Cross Roads man suffered a major injury when a vehicle struck him from behind and knocked him into a ditch at 9 p.m. Sept. 5 on Simcoe Road in Springfield Township, said state police at Towanda.
Police said the pedestrian, Jonathan W. Seeley, 32, of Columbia Cross Roads, was walking south on Simcoe Road in Springfield Township, when an unknown vehicle was traveling south on the road and struck him from behind. The impact knocked him into the west roadside ditch, police said.
Police said Seeley was able to call his cousin and was brought to Troy Community Hospital, with severe injuries. Police said the vehicle in question is suspected to be a light-colored mini-van.
