Fugitive from justice
State police at Towanda said Cerdan C. Holmes, 22, of Waverly, N.Y. is awaiting extradition to New York on misdemeanor charges.
According to police, Cerdan was an inmate at the Bradford County Correctional Facility in West Burlington Township, for previous charges, at 3 p.m. Sept. 23, and was found to be a wanted person, out of New York State. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw.
Man injured
State police at Towanda said Norman P. Edsell, 58, of Rome, had a minor injury in a single commercial vehicle crash that occurred recently on Sally's Road in Windham Township.
Police said he was driving a Kenworth T800 north on Sally's Road, and drove too close to the edge of the roadway, causing the passenger side tires to slide down the edge. Then, it rolled over onto the passenger side and came to final rest.
Police said Edsell was transported to Robert Packer Hospital.
Edsell was charged with careless driving, police said.
Vehicle strikes cow
State police at Towanda said Arnold D. Pearsall, 59, of Williamsport, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash, involving a cow, that occurred at 7:36 p.m. Sept. 20 on Route 414 in LeRoy Township.
Police said he was traveling west on Route 414 and a cow walked into the roadway in front of his Jeep Grand Cherokee. He tried to swerve to miss the cow, but was unsuccessful, police said.
Police said the front end area of his vehicle struck the cow, causing disabling damage to the vehicle. His vehicle came to final rest, shortly after colliding with the cow.
The Franklin Township and Canton volunteer fire departments, Western Alliance, and Junior's, which towed the vehicle, responded to the scene.
Field damaged
State police at Towanda said they are investigating damage to a corn and hay field that occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Sept. 24 and 11:22 a.m. Sept. 25 on Grover Road in Canton Township.
Police said someone in a vehicle traveled through the corn and hay field, causing damage.
The victim was a Canton woman.
Man charged
State police at Towanda said Robert Swackhammer, 18, of Burlington, faces charges of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief following an incident that took place sometime between Oct. 9-10, 2013 at a residence along Fairview Road in Burlington Township.
Police said he is accused of burglarizing the residence and removing three firearms.
Bruce Kerekes, 54, of St. Petersburg, Fla. is the victim, police said.
Burglary reported
State police at Towanda said a burglary occurred sometime between Sept. 20 and 10:34 a.m. Sept. 25 at an address on Cleveland Road in Armenia Township.
Police said the victim was a 65-year-old Troy man.
According to police, the burglar or burglars pried open the front door of the residence, gained entry, and then removed a couple items from inside the residence, before fleeing the scene.
Window smashed
State police at Towanda said someone used a rock to smash the side widow of the Camptown Dandy Mini Mart at 1:09 a.m. Sept. 27 at the intersection of routes 706 and 409 in Wyalusing Township.
Police said about $400 worth of damage was reported.
