Theft reported
Sometime between Aug. 22 and Aug. 25, unknown individuals removed a red Craftsman upright air compressor with an approximately 100 lb tank capacity from a residence along Chapel Road in Smithfield Township. An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
Gun stolen
Pennsylvania State Troopers are investigating the theft of a firearm from a residence on Laurel Hill Road in Smithfield Township occurring sometime between Aug. 16 and Sept. 6. Further investigation determined an unknown person removed a Smith & Wesson Model 642 J-frame revolver, .38 Special + P caliber with a stainless steel finish and Hogue grips from the Bradford County residence. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Towanda barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police at (570) 265-2186.
Possession of a weapon on school property occurs
On Aug. 28, a 16-year-old male student at the Northeast Bradford High School was found to be in possession of a knife and lighter by high school staff. The student was found in the student male bathroom lighting toilet paper on fire. Charges are pending with the Bradford County Juvenile Probation Office.
DUI arrest made
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Gruber investigated the scene of a one-vehicle accident on State Route 4013, approximately one quarter mile from Centerville Road in Ridgebury Township on Aug. 30. Trooper Gruber reportedly found Curtis J. Singerhoff, 24 of Gillett, on site and arrested the individual on suspicion of DUI.
Crash reported
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of a one-vehicle crash occurring at approximately 7:08 a.m. on Sept. 4. A 2010 Chevy Aveo driven by Matthew Partridge, 23 of Wyalusing, was found overturned on a curved section of Wyalusing/New Albany Road in Terry Township. Partridge was transported to Geisinger Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries. It was determined that Partridge was not wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
Juveniles fight
Trooper Brandon Allis with the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the reported simple assault that occurred between two juveniles on Aug. 28 on Cotter Road in Wilmot Township. Two boys, aged 12 and 11, were reportedly fighting when the 11-year-old allegedly assaulted the other. Troopers are currently investigating the incident.
Burglary/theft reported
On May 3, troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police investigated a burglary that occurred on Fallbrook Road in Troy Township. The offender entered the residence and removed cash and other valuables from the property. After an investigation, troopers arrested and charged Shane L. Collins, 29, formerly of Troy, upon positively identifying his fingerprints lifted from the scene.
DWI arrest made
Tammy Jo Geiss, 33, of Waverly, was arrested for felony DWI, felony DWI operating a motor vehicle with a BAC greater than .08 percent and the violation of failing to keep right. Geiss was arrested following a traffic stop at 2:54 a.m., on Sept. 20, on Broad Street, Waverly.
Geiss is scheduled to appear in the Village of Waverly Justice Court at 4 p.m. on Oct. 2, to answer the charges.
Woman charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
Chelsea M. Darling, 20, of Waverly, was arrested for misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle following investigation into a report that she took a family member's vehicle without permission. Darling was arrested at 12:50 p.m. on Sept. 29, at her residence. The offense date was Sept. 28.
Darling is scheduled to appear in the Village of Waverly Justice Court at 4 p.m. on Oct. 2, to answer the charges.
DWI arrest made
Parker D. Stilson, 23, of Barton, was arrested for misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor aggravated DWI, and the violations of failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and failing to keep right. Stilson was arrested following a traffic stop at 2:21 a.m. on Sept. 27, on Route 17C in Waverly.
Stilson is scheduled to appear in the Village of Waverly Justice Court at 4 p.m. on Oct. 9, to answer the charges.
