New Albany man faces sex charges

Joshua Cummiskey, 23, of New Albany has been charged with a third-degree felony of corruption of minors and a first-degree misdemeanor of indecent assault, police said.

The charges were filed after allegations were made that Cummiskey had indecent contact with a three-year-old girl, police said.

The incident occurred on July 7 in Albany Township, state police at Towanda said.

Cummiskey was arraigned Wednesday in Towanda District Court and then released on unsecured bail, police said.

Collision occurs in Cherry Twp.

No injuries occurred in a recent motor vehicle accident that took place on state Route 87 in Cherry Township, Sullivan County, police said.

Coty Bailey, 28, of Towanda was driving a 2011 Freightliner south on Route 87 when the vehicle crossed the center lines and struck a Mack truck operated by George Bahrenburg of Jermyn, Pa., police said.

There was moderate damage to the driver's sides of both vehicles, police said.

The accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Citations will be filed against Bailey, state police at Laporte said.

Theft occurs in North Towanda

Someone stole the wheels from a 24-year-old Towanda man's bicycle, police said.

The theft occurred between 4 p.m. on June 20 and 7 p.m. on June 21 at a location on James Street in North Towanda Township, police said.
