Television smashed in Towanda

Someone smashed a SONY television on private property at the intersection of Bridge and Third streets in Towanda, borough police said.

The incident took place approximately a week ago, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Towanda Borough police at (570) 265-2522.

A $100 reward has been offered by the property owner to anyone who provides information leading to charges being filed against the actor or actors, police said.

Arrow lands on roof

State police at Towanda said someone shot an arrow into the air sometime between 9 p.m. Oct. 22 and 8 a.m. Oct. 25 in Wyalusing, and the arrow landed on a roof on Marsh Street.

Police said the victim in the incident was Ellen Minnier, 36, of Wyalusing.

Tool box taken

State police at Towanda said someone removed a Snap-on brand tool box with miscellaneous tools inside at approximately 4:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in Burlington.

Police said the victim is Christopher Travis, 27, no address given.

Access device fraud reported

State police at Towanda said someone attempted to open a credit card account with the personal information of Dawn Warner Debach, 68, of Troy, but was denied sometime between 12:01 a.m. Oct. 16 and midnight Oct. 17 on Pisgah Road in Troy.

Police said the actor or actors also tried to open a second credit card account, which was approved and was used to purchase $1,300 worth of merchandise.

Man injured

State police at Towanda said Chad A. Placke, 28, of Rome, had a moderate injury in a crash at 9:29 p.m. Oct. 22 on State Route 467 in Stevens Township.

Police said he was traveling on the road, just west of Route 706, at an unsafe speed on the wet roadway, while negotiating a right curve. He lost control of his Jeep Wrangler, and traveled into the westbound berm, striking a guardrail and overturning. The vehicle came to final rest on its passenger side in the middle of the roadway.

Police said his vehicle had disabling front end passenger side damage, and Placke was transported to Robert Packer Hospital for his injuries. He was cited for a violation of "roadways laned for traffic."

Police were assisted at the scene by HOPS EMS, Laceyville Fire Department, and Babcock's Towing.

One injured

State police at Towanda said Mark R. Soper, 49, of Troy, had a minor injury in a crash at 10:14 a.m. Oct. 27 on Route 14 in Columbia Township.

Police said he was traveling north on the road, when several deer ran into the roadway from the southbound berm. He swerved in an attempt to miss the deer, and traveled into a ditch in the southbound berm, causing disabling undercarriage damage to his Dodge Ram.
