PFA violation
State police at Towanda said a complaint was filed with the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas charging Robert Hurlburt, 35, of Canton, with violating the terms of an active Protection from Abuse order by having contact with a 33-year-old Canton woman, a 13-year-old Canton male, and a 12-year-old Canton female on multiple occasions between Oct. 13-26 in Canton Township.
Police said the disposition of the matter is pending in court.
Wire taken
State police at Towanda said they are investigating the theft of 200 feet of 10-gauge electrical wire and a 30-amp receptacle belonging to Dale G. Palmer of Alba sometime between 8 a.m. Sept. 22 and 3 p.m. Oct. 22 on Cemetery Street in Alba, Canton Township.

Man charged with theft
State police said Joshua Alan Manning, 22, of Laceyville, stole $50 from the unlocked 2004 Chevrolet Blazer of a 22-year-old LeRaysville woman at 9 p.m. April 9 on Sawmill Road in LeRaysville.
Police said criminal charges were filed with District Court 42-3-04.
Theft occurs in Towanda
Towanda police said they are investigating a theft and criminal mischief incident, both of which occurred over the weekend at Towanda Iron & Metal Inc. in Towanda.
Towanda Iron & Metal is offering a $500 reward for any information leading to the apprehension and conviction of whomever committed the theft and criminal mischief, police said.
Towanda police declined to provide additional details at this time about what was stolen and damaged at the business over the weekend.

Teen charged with simple assault in Colley Twp.
Emoni R. Newsome, 18, of Philadelphia has been charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident at the Red Rock Job Corps Center in Colley Township, police said.
Newsome assaulted Robyn L. McNear of Philadelphia when they were having an argument on Oct. 20 at the Job Corps center, police said.
Newsome grabbed McNear's hair and pulled her down to the floor, police said. Newsome than kicked McNear in the face with a steel-toed boot, police said.
McNear suffered a fracture to her nose and a cut to her right eyebrow, police said.
Newsome, who lives on West Master Street, was sent to the Columbia County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to the state police at Laporte.
Theft occurs in Elkland Twp.
State police said they are trying to determine who entered a 54-year-old man's property in Elkland Township and stole approximately 50 bushels of apples from various trees on the property.
The theft took place sometime between Oct. 19 and Oct. 23 on posted land along Ellis Road, state police said.

Teen brings pot to Wyalusing school
A 13-year-old student brought a small amount of marijuana to Wyalusing Valley Junior/Senior High School, police said.
The incident took place at 11:20 a.m. on Oct. 14, state police at Towanda said.
The teenager was subsequently processed and charges were to be filed through the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, police said.
Vehicle overturns in Towanda Twp.
Paul John Ackerman, 65, of Ulster has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a motor vehicle accident in Towanda Township, police said.
The accident occurred at 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 12 as Ackerman was driving east on state Route 3020, police said.
Ackerman's vehicle went off the south side of the road, struck a utility pole, sunk into a ditch, and overturned, police said.
Ackerman was uninjured, state police at Towanda said.
Property found in Albany Twp.
State police said that some property was found in the rear of a shed on Hatch Hill Road in Albany Township.
The property that was found was an air compressor, a finishing nailer, and a cable, state police said.
The property was found on Oct. 11, state police said.

Wysox man cited for public drunkenness
John David Ackley, 33, of Wysox was cited for public drunkenness following an incident in Towanda Township, police said.
State police said they went to Old Plank Road in Towanda Township after they received a complaint about an individual wrapped in a blanket knocking on doors, police said.
Ackley was found sleeping in a chair on the front porch of a residence unknown to him, police said.
The incident occurred at 3:02 a.m. on Oct. 19, state police at Towanda said.
Camera stolen
Pennsylvania State Police responded to an address on the Berwick Turnpike in Smithfield Township to investigate a report of a burglary.
The crime allegedly occurred on Oct. 15 as a 17-year-old individual known to the victim unlawfully entered the residence and removed a camera.
State Police Troopers identified the suspect and he will face appropriate charges which will be filed with Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox.
Theft of gasoline reported
Sometime between Oct. 8 and Oct. 17, an unknown person trespassed on property along Carpenter Hill Road in Albany Township in order to steal gasoline from a gas can.

Stolen blanket results in theft charge
On Oct. 10, a yard sale was taking place on North Rome Road in Rome Township. During the sale, Tracy Quackenbush, 51, and Cathy Gibson, 32, removed a comforter from a table, threw it in the back of their vehicle and left without payment. The victim was able to describe the vehicle and the suspects, and both were recovered a short time later. Quackenbush and Gibson each admitted to taking the item without paying for it.
Each will be charged with theft by unlawful taking. They will face the charge at the office of Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.
Distracted driver charged with DUI
Officers with the Athens Borough Police Department were dispatched to Church Street in Athens for a reported motor vehicle accident on Sept. 30.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver, Sarah A. Frock, 29, of Athens, who stated that she had been trying to use her cell phone to send and receive text messages at the time of the crash.
Frock's vehicle struck another vehicle which was parked on the west side of Church Street. Both vehicles sustained such major damage they had to be towed away from the scene.
While speaking with Frock, officers were able to detect the odor of alcohol emitting from her person. She stated to the officers that she had consumed an alcoholic beverage. Frock declined emergency medical treatment at which time the officers asked her to perform field sobriety tests. Frock failed to perform at a satisfactory level and was taken into custody.
Frock was arrested and charged with DUI: highest rate of alcohol. She will face this charge at a preliminary hearing with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw at 10 a.m. on Nov. 21.
Erratic driving results in DUI arrest
On Oct. 12, officers with the Athens Township Police Department were on patrol in the area of Pine Street when they came upon a vehicle traveling in the same direction.
As the patrol car followed the vehicle, it was observed to continually swerve into the right hand lane of travel as well as the fog lane. Officers reported the driver swerved over the fog line a total of 10 times between the Chemung River Bridge and the intersection with Wolcott Hollow Road. On several occasions, the vehicle did so with the passenger side tires traveling several feet over the line.
As a result, officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and found the driver to be 23-year-old Athens resident Aubriana L. Bardi. As officers interacted with Bardi it was clear that she was under the influence as her eyes were bloodshot and glassy and there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.
Bardi was asked to perform the standard series of field sobriety tests and when she failed to complete them in a satisfactory manner, she was placed under arrest.
Bardi was charged with DUI: general impairment; DUI: high rate of alcohol; failure to notify change of address; driving on the right side of the roadway; driving on roadways lined for traffic and careless driving. She will face these charges at a preliminary hearing on Nov. 21 with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw.
Paraphernalia arrest made
Employees with the Walmart store on Elmira Street in Athens Township called the police on Sept. 11 to report suspicious and disorderly individuals. While en route, officers were informed that the suspects had left the store and drove off in a grey sedan.
Officers with the Athens Township Police Department arriving to the scene spotted the vehicle turning on to Herrick Avenue from Elmira Street. The officers followed the vehicle for a short time and then stopped it on Herrick Avenue.
Upon completing the stop, officers noticed several items of paraphernalia used for imbibing marijuana, including a glass water bong, pipe, a glass pipe, wooden pipe and metal grinder.
At that point, the driver, Jayde C. Vanderpool, 20, of Lockwood, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license. She is set to answer to the charges with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on Nov. 25.
