Dead rabbit placed in mailbox

State police at Towanda said they are investigating a harassment incident that took place sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 31 and 9 a.m. Nov. 2 on the Burlington Turnpike in Burlington Township in which someone placed a dead rabbit in the mailbox of two 21-year-old women, causing damage to the mail and the inside of the mailbox.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.

Vehicle strikes tree in Towanda area

David J. Gratkowski, 34, of Sayre was uninjured in a recent motor vehicle accident in the Towanda area, police said.

Gratkowski was traveling south on U.S. Route 220 at 3:25 a.m. Monday when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his Chevrolet Silverado, police said.

The vehicle began to spin, traveled off the east side of the road, and struck a tree, state police at Towanda said.

No charges were filed against Gratkowski, state police said.

Male charged with felony computer trespass

Following investigation into a report of an incident of a possible computer trespass of a female victim's cell phone, a 17-year-old male from Waverly, N.Y. was arrested for felony computer trespass. The youth is accused of illegally accessing (synced) a female victim's personal cell phone to his computer.

The arrest was made on Nov. 12, 2014 and he will answer the criminal charges in Village of Waverly Justice on a December 2014 court date.

DWI arrest made

At 1:47 a.m. on Nov. 15, 2014, Tonia Lee Irish, 41, of Sayre, Pa., was arrested for felony DWI following a traffic stop on Elizabeth Street, Waverly, N.Y.

Irish was also cited for felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the 1st degree, felony DWI with a BAC above .08 percent and the infraction of operating a vehicle without an "Interlock Device."

Irish was arraigned in the Village of Waverly Justice Court and bail was set at $10,000.00. She was sent to the Tioga County NY jail to await further court action.

Hit and run MVA occurs

Upon investigation into a motor vehicle accident that occurred at 12:01 a.m., on Nov. 16 on Clark Street, Waverly, N.Y., Michael L. Engle, 30, was arrested for leaving the scene of property damage MVA, aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree, operating with no insurance and moving from lane unsafely. The date and time of his arrest was at 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 16, 2014.

Engle was arraigned in the Village of Waverly Justice Court and was sent to the Tioga County NY Jail to await further court action.

Bail was set at $2,500.00.
