Criminal mischief charges filed

State police at Towanda said criminal mischief charges were filed following an incident that occurred at 3 a.m. Nov. 25 on North Street in Albany Township.

Police said Derek James Doss, 26, of New Albany, became angry because a family member moved the television from his bedroom. He then smashed a mirror, valued at $200, in the bathroom.

Police said the victim was a 61-year-old man who lives at the location.

The charges were filed in District Court 42-3-03.

Man charged

State police at Towanda said a Philadelphia man is facing a charge related to "persons not to possess firearms" through District Court 42-3-01.

Police said they were advised that Robert Richard Zammer, 54, of Philadelphia was a felon not to possess a firearm. According to police, he was on Zammer Road at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 8 in Armenia Township in possession of firearms. Police said he was found to be in possession of several firearms, as well as ammunition.

Theft reported

State police at Towanda said an 85-year-old Troy woman was contacted by telephone at noon Oct. 30 on Fallbrook Road in Troy with a request to make a money transfer.

According to police, the caller identified himself or herself as the police and told the woman that her granddaughter had been arrested, and requested a money transfer via Green Dot Money Pak cards, which the woman provided. Police said her granddaughter had never been arrested.
