Two vehicle accident occurs in Dushore
There were no injuries after a two vehicle accident occurred at approximately 11:37 a.m. on Dec. 11 in the borough of Dushore.
According to the state police of Laporte, the crash occurred when the unidentified driver of a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country was traveling north on PA-487 and, after missing the turn onto Cherry Street, began traveling in reverse and backed into the 2003 Nissan sedan that was following.
The driver of the Chrysler Town & Country was charged with limitations on backing.
Rifle lost near Elkland
According to the state police of Laporte, a Winchester Model 70 rifle was lost around 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 on McCarty Driscoli Road approximately one mile from State Route 4009. Anyone who locates the rifle is asked to contact the Laporte State Police.
Two uninjured after vehicle rolls onto roof
Two Washington, Pa. men were uninjured after a single vehicle crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Dec. 12 in Davidson Township, Sullivan County.
According to Laporte state police, Cody A. Smith, 27, was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 on Whiskey Run Road when slippery road conditions prevented him from stopping at the intersection of Christian Camp Road, causing the truck to travel across the intersection, over an embankment and into a ditch approximately 12 feet down, causing the vehicle to roll onto its roof. Both Smith and his passenger, Lance Gerber, 29, were wearing their seat belts.
No charges were filed as a result of the crash.
Police investigating indecent assault in Towanda
State Police are investigating allegations of indecent assault occurring in Towanda.
According to police, a juvenile female victim alleges that she was touched inappropriately by someone known to her at various times from August of 2011 to October of 2013.
Three transported to hospital following crash
Three people from Towanda were recently involved in a one vehicle crash that took place in Asylum Township around 2:23 p.m. on Dec. 11, resulting in all three being transported to Robert Packer Hospital for minor injuries.
According to police, Jeremiah J. Chilson, 26, was traveling south on Old Mill Park Road with two passengers, 28-year-old Lena Everitt and a 1-year-old female, when Chilson's 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 hit a patch of slush, causing the vehicle to cross the center line of traffic, strike a utility pole and then a ditch before becoming overturned.
Chilson was charged with driving too fast for conditions and Towanda Memorial EMS responded to the scene.
Arrest warrant issued for Towanda man
State police have issued a warrant for Duane Demellier, 34, for failing to comply with sexual offender requirements a felony of the first degree. Police say Demellier moved out of his registered address between Oct. 16 and Dec. 10 without notifying the police within the required three business days. Anyone with information on Demellier's whereabouts is asked to call the state police at (570)-265-2186.
Man charged with probation violation in Towanda
A Texas man was recently charged with violating his probation in Towanda on Dec. 11.
According to state police, Joshua James Swingle, 23, was wanted in Parker County, Texas, regarding an active arrest warrant for probation violation stemming from a previous felony offense.
Swingle was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and was subsequently remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Criminal mischief occurs in Wysox
According to state police, unknown actor(s) caused damage to a vehicle belonging to Tammy May Devine, 47, of Wysox between the times of 1 p.m. on Oct. 9 and 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 10. while the vehicle was parked on Golden Mile Road.
Towanda man accused of vandalizing vehicle
According to state police, Elias John Harrigan, 20, allegedly used a pocketknife to slash a tire and scratch the driver's side door of a 2005 Toyota Camry belonging to Rikki Cole, 40, of Towanda, at the Bradford Towne Center in Wysox on Nov. 22.
Harrigan has been charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct as a result of the incident.
