Woman waives hearing on aggravated indecent assault

Mable Patricia Payne, 29, of Troy, recently waived her preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy to the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas on six counts of felony aggravated indecent assault and other offenses, according to court papers.

Payne was also charged with two counts of felony corruption of minors and four counts of misdemeanor indecent assault for an incident that took place sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. July 5 in Troy Township, the papers note.

Police said Payne is accused of having indecent contact with a 5-year-old female, or causing the victim to have indecent contact with her.

Wilcox said Payne's unsecure bail was set at $40,000 and was posted.

Man faces hearing on indecent assault

Michael Richard Gochenaur, 45, of Newark, Ohio, faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. today before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox on felony charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, and indecent assault, according to court papers.

The papers note that the incidents took place at a private residence sometime between Jan. 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007 in Wyalusing Township.

According to an affidavit, the victim stated two incidents took place when she was approximately 7-8 years old. Police said Gochenaur is charged with having indecent contact with the victim, or causing the victim to have indecent contact with him.

Police said Gochenaur was contacted by phone about the allegations that were made against him, and "he denied all of it and said that it never happened."

Wheaton said he was sent a summons.

Man faces drug charges

Ryan James Ohart, 26, of Wysox, faces a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. today before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton of Wysox on charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana for personal use; possession of drug paraphernalia, namely a green metal pipe containing burnt residue, to inhale marijuana; driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance; a violation of "drivers required to be licensed;" a violation of "maximum speed limits;" and careless driving, according to court papers.

The papers note that the charges were filed following a traffic stop at approximately 12:34 p.m. Nov. 30 on Route 220 in Rome.

Police said a white Pontiac Sunbird, operated by Ohart, was traveling at a speed of 52 mph in the posted 35 mph zone.

Wheaton said he was sent a summons.
