No injuries in two vehicle accident
A Mechanicsburg man was charged with driving at an unsafe speed after a two vehicle crash that occurred on Jan. 26 in North Towanda Township.
According to state police, Tajul Islam, 44, was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry north on State Route 220 at a high rate of speed when he attempted to apply his brakes to avoid a collision with the 2008 Ford F-150 in front of him, driven by Dana Woodbeck, 29, of Towanda. Islam's vehicle then slid into the F-150, causing disabling damage to his vehicle. No one was injured as a result of the crash, and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Woman charged with DUI
According to state police, Jenna Lorraine Hart, 24, of Nanticoke was arrested for driving under the influence following an incident that occurred in North Towanda Township on Dec. 7. Charges were filed in District Court 42-3-03.
Moderate injuries reported in crash
Two Wysox residents were taken to Memorial Hospital in Towanda with moderate injuries following a one vehicle crash that occurred on Jan. 26 in Wysox Township.
According to state police, Jason Skaggs, 20, was traveling with Railyn Decker, 20, in a 2008 Hyundai Elantra when Skaggs lost control of the vehicle, slid off the roadway and struck a tree.
Neither person was wearing a seatbelt and Skaggs was charged with driving at an unsafe speed as a result of the crash.
Towanda man charged following crash
A Towanda man was charged following a one vehicle crash that occurred on Jan. 25 in Towanda Township.
According to state police, Joseph Daniello, 20, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado west on Old Plank Road when he lost control of his vehicle and traveled into a ditch, resulting in his vehicle being flipped onto its passenger side.
Daniello was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured as a result of the crash. He was charged with violating "roadways laned for traffic" and Ulster Ambulance responded to the scene.
