Man charged with stealing a fishing pole
On Feb. 10, Towanda Borough Police arrested Jack Stroud, 33, for the theft of fishing pole that was located on Chestnut Street in Towanda, according to a police press release. Stroud was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Stroud was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 25.
Injuries suffered in crash
Two men suffered injuries as a result of a crash that occurred on Jan. 31 in Tuscarora Township.
According to police, Thomas Kohut, 36, of Exeter was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram west on State Route 6 when he struck the vehicle of Tyler Huffman, 22, of Laceyville, whose vehicle was disabled because of a previous crash. As a result, Huffman's vehicle subsequently struck Austin Wilson, 20, of Muncy, who was attempting to assist Huffman.
Wilson suffered moderate injuries, while Huffman sustained a major injury and was transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center. No one was charged as a result of the crash.
