Wysox man charged with simple assault
A 32-year-old woman reported that Todd Allen Putnam of Wysox recently elbowed her in the chest, causing a bruise, police said.
The incident occurred on Feb. 16 in Wysox Township, state police at Towanda said.
As a result of this incident, the 29-year-old Putnam has been charged with simple assault, police said.
Wysox woman victim of identity theft
Cherie Denise Sutton, 44, of Wysox was the recent victim of identity theft, police said.
Sutton reported that when she went to file her tax return, she found out that someone had already tried to file a return in her name, police said.
The IRS put a stop on the fake return and at this time Sutton has not lost any money, police said.
The incident occurred on Feb. 19, police said.
Stevensville man cited for illegally passing school bus
Leo L. Edsell, 55, of Stevensville is accused of passing a school bus while its red signals were activated and it was discharging students from the Towanda School District, police said.
The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 on U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, west of state Route 187, police said.
The vehicle that Edsell was driving is owned by Enviro Tek LLC, police said.
A traffic citation was filed on Edsell for meeting or overtaking school bus, state police at Towanda said.
