Charges filed in Wysox K-Mart theft
Abigail Marie Ferguson, 23, of Wyalusing, was charged with theft by deception after stealing $2,756.56 from K-Mart in Wysox over the course of a month, police said.
According to police, Ferguson, a former employee of that K-Mart, falsely made return transactions without receipts or items in order to put funds on a K-Mart gift card. She then used the gift card to make purchases which would be returned for a cash refund from Jan. 25 to Feb. 21, police said.
When police arrested Ferguson, they found four bags with a white powder residue and a pink tube, which also had white residue, police said.
Police said Ferguson said the bags contained heroin.
Ferguson was also charged with receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, heroin possession, and access device fraud, according to police.
Ferguson was arraigned Feb. 24 by Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw and remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Ferguson will face a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on March 3.
Rome man charged with child endangerment
Edward Harry Boss, 58, of Rome, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after leaving two teenage boys out in the cold for over an hour and a half, according to police.
At about 5 a.m. on Feb. 15, Boss locked the 14- and 15-year-old boys outside after forcing them out of the house into zero degree temperatures on Towner Hill Road in Rome, police said.
Police said Boss did not allow the boys to call for a ride.
Police said the boys waited outside for about an hour and 45 minutes until they were picked up.
Boss was also charged with recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct, police said.
Towanda woman charged in connection with Monroe Muffler burglary
Stacey Marie Terry, 31, of Towanda, was charged with criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property as an accomplice after police stopped Steven James Spencer, 39, of Towanda and found him to be in possession of 143 stolen Pennsylvania vehicle inspection stickers, police said.
Terry was taken into custody by state police after police found a pipe with marijuana residue on it, police said.
According to police, while in custody Terry admitted to being present during the sale of an inspection sticker and letting Spencer use her cell phone to set up the purchase.
Terry was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Terry was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark Feb. 23 and remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing has been set for March 3.
Wysox man charged after taking car without permission
Joshua Robert Woodruff, 21, of Wysox, was charged with unauthorized used of an automobile and disorderly conduct after it was reported that Woodruff took the victim's 2001 Pontiac Aztec without her permission, according to police.
When confronted by police, Woodruff admitted to taking the vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and returning it at about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 16, police said.
Police said Woodruff took the vehicle to see his girlfriend.
Woodruff has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton for a preliminary hearing March 17.
Charges filed after counterfeit bill used at Wysox Dandy Mini Mart
Michael A. Pierce, 28, of Houtzdale, was charged with forgery, theft by deception, and receiving stolen property after paying for gas with a counterfeit $100 bill, police said.
Pierce was given the bill by a friend to pay for gas in his friend's truck after filling up at the Wysox Dandy Mini Mart in November last year, police said.
According to police, Pierce paid for $83.01 worth of gas and received $16.99 in change from the purchase.
Police were able to determine Pierce made the transaction after reviewing security footage and locating the vehicle from which Pierce exited and reentered.
The driver of the vehicle told police the passenger's name was Mike and that he dropped him off at American Modern Home Trailer Park where Pierce lives.
Pierce has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton for a preliminary hearing on March 24.
DUI reported
State police at Towanda said Richard Wayne Moss, 75, of Milan, was taken into custody for DUI at 7:55 p.m. Feb. 14 on Green Mountain Road in Ridgebury Township and arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.
Police said he was committed to Bradford County Correctional Facility on $5,000 monetary bail.
People charged
State police at Towanda said two people were charged after police investigated a domestic dispute that became physical at 9:25 p.m. Feb. 13 on Water Street in Canton Township.
According to police, both people began to punch and shove each other inside a van parked on Water Street.
Police did not identify the people who were charged by name.
According to police, they were a 42-year-old Philadelphia man and a 43-year-old Canton Township woman.
In addition, police listed their charges, but did not specify who the charges were filed against.
Police said "one party" was arrested and charged with simple assault, harassment, and criminal mischief and transported to Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail, and "the second party" was charged with harassment. Charges were filed through District Court 42-3-01.
Woman charged with retail theft
State police at Mansfield said Jennifer Lynne Wallace, 43, of Canton, was charged with retail theft for taking 18 items of beauty products valued at $185.19 from Wal-Mart Supercenter at 4:55 p.m. Feb. 14 in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pa., without paying for them.
DUIs
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
John Larry Evans III, 23, of Wyalusing by the state police on Sept. 14, on state Route 467 in Rome Township.
Evans has also been charged with failing to obey traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.
A blood test later revealed that Evans' blood alcohol content was .198 percent and showed the presence of Midazolam in his blood the day of his arrest.
Evans has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on March 17 for his preliminary hearing.
Louis Joseph Philippi, 58, of Rome, by state police on Feb. 7, on state Route 187 in Windham Township.
Philippi has also been charged with driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.
A blood test later revealed that Philippi's blood alcohol content was .265 percent and showed the presence of Oxycodone in his blood on the day of his arrest.
Philippi has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on March 13 for his preliminary hearing.
