Man faces hearing on retail theft

Brian Joe Rought, 38, of Towanda, faces a preliminary hearing at 3:30 p.m. today before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on charges of retail theft and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked for an incident that took place at 1:53 p.m. Jan. 15 at Welles Mills Company Inc. on Golden Mile Road in Wysox Township, according to court papers.

The papers note that Rought is accused of the retail theft of gasoline valued at $30.

Vandalism occurs in Wysox Township

Wysox resident Edward W. Mercer was the recent victim of vandalism, state police said.

Mercer, who lives on Golden Mile Road, reported that he was watching TV when he heard a noise. He then noticed that his front window was smashed. The incident occurred at 8:15 p.m. on March 3.

Hit-and-run crash occurs in Wysox Twp.

A hit-and-run driver struck a 2013 Ram truck that was parked at the Jeld-Wen plant in Wysox Township, police said. The vehicle belongs to Anthony Campbell of Rome.

State police at Towanda said they are continuing to investigate the crash, which occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on Feb. 9.

Dushore man charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle

Jeremy Mark Marshall of Dushore took Dushore resident Priann Fay Williams' vehicle without her permission, police said.

The incident occurred at 11 a.m. Wednesday on Boxer Drive in Dushore, state police at Laporte said.

Marshall, 24, has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license, police said.

Towanda man charged with possession of drug paraphernalia

Brandon Lawrence Reeves, 32, of Towanda has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The charge was filed after Reeves was found to be in possession of two syringes and a small metal spoon, state police said.

Reeves admitted that he used the syringes and metal spoon to prepare methamphetamine and inject it, police said.

The incident occurred on March 2 at a residence in Towanda, state police at Towanda said.
