DUI Charges
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Brian Keith Seymour, 49, of Athens, by Athens Township Police on March 13 on U.S. Route 220 in Sayre. Seymour has also been charged with careless driving and driving on the wrong side of the roadway. Seymour later refused to submit to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. Seymour has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on April 24 for his preliminary hearing.
Athens man charged with paraphernalia possession
Jason Patrick Murray, 34, of Athens, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to obey traffic signals on March 13, police said.
According to police, Murray was stopped after failing to stop at a red light on Keystone Avenue in Sayre.
Police said Murray's passengers were known to be heroin and narcotics abusers and one passenger, Brandon Roberts, was taken into custody on a warrant.
After searching Roberts, police found insulin and needles on his person, which led them to search the vehicle Murray was driving.
Upon searching the vehicle, police said a Red Bull can used to cook heroin was found between the center console and passenger seat.
Murray has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on April 21 for his preliminary hearing.
Endicott man charged with public drunkenness, marijuana possession
Terence C. Cooper, 45, of Endicott, was charged with public drunkenness, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia March 14 after police observed him urinating on a sidewalk on Spring Street in Sayre, police said.
According to police, a search found Cooper to be in possession of a metal pipe with burnt residue on it and a sandwich bag with a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.
Police said Cooper admitted to having marijuana on his person and stated he does smoke marijuana.
Cooper has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on April 21 for his preliminary hearing.
Theft charges filed for Sayre woman
Angela L. Jones, 40, of Sayre, was charged with theft by unlawful taking after Jones' mother, Penny Youngs, notified police that Jones stole Percocet pills from Youngs' residence, police said.
According to police, Jones was given $15 by Youngs to buy purchase items from a dollar store and never returned with the items.
Police said Youngs wanted Jones arrested because she had a bad drug problem.
Jones has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on April 28 for her preliminary hearing.
