CHESTERFIELD/COLONIAL HEIGHTS - The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program wants to help resolve a case being investigated by Chesterfield County Police and Animal Control officers.
Late in the evening on Saturday, June 29, the residents of a home in the 11900 block of Winterpock Road heard a pop sound. The next morning, they discovered their gelding horse had been shot once in the chest and died as a result of the injury. Evidence suggests that the horse, which was 12 to 14 years old, walked to and around the shed after being shot, possibly having been shot while near the fence adjacent to the road.
The case has already received a great deal of media attention, but investigating officers are still looking for leads to help them resolve the case. Related images can be seen at www.crimesolvers.net.
