Sayre man charged with drug, paraphernalia possession

Patrick Joseph Henderson, 24, of Sayre received several charges following a traffic stop conducted by Sayre Borough Police on April 13, Sayre police said.

According to police, Henderson was stopped after failing to stop at a stop sign.

Police said Henderson had several hypodermic needles on the passenger seat of his vehicle.

Henderson had his 18-month-old child in the backseat of the vehicle as well, police said.

After taking Henderson into custody, police searched his apartment where they found a green leafy substance, which tested positive for marijuana, a bent metal spoon, a glass pipe, and several plastic and glassine baggies police said.

Henderson was charged with drug and paraphernalia possession, failure to obey stop signs, driving with an expired registration, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Henderson was remanded to Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

He will appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on April 28 for his preliminary hearing.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Amber Lynn Santo, 31, of Rome, by Athens Township Police, on March 29, on Front Street in Athens Township. Santo was also charged with driving with a suspended license. A blood alcohol test later revealed Santo's blood alcohol content was .149 percent on the day of her arrest. Santo has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on May 8 for her preliminary hearing.

Lance Lee Staples, 36, of Athens, by Athens Township Police, on April 11, on Wolcott Hollow Road in Athens Township. Staples was also charged with careless driving and failure to use turn signals. Staples later refused to submit to a blood alcohol test to determine his blood alcohol content. Staples has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on May 8 for his preliminary hearing.
