Copper wiring/cables taken

State police at Towanda said someone unknown gained unlawful access to the Penelec/First Energy power station premises sometime between 8 a.m. April 14 and 8 a.m. April 15 on Brague Road in Canton Township, and stole a large amount of copper wiring/cables.

Pistol stolen

State police at Towanda said someone gained access to the residence of Robert Michael Tofts, 31, of Springfield, sometime between 6:15 a.m. and 9:21 p.m. April 16 on Springfield Road in Springfield Township, and stole/removed a silver Taurus PT140 40-caliber pistol with black handgrips.

Police said Tofts' black trail camera on his porch was also stolen.

Rubbish scattered

State police at Towanda said someone placed three bags of garbage on the property of Margaret Weibach, no age given, of Gillett sometime between Feb. 1 and April 14 on Dewey Hollow Road, approximately .3 miles west of Scott Road, and fled the scene.

Pair charged with harassment

State police at Towanda said a charge of harassment was filed on Shawn David Hart, 33, and Jennifer Lynn Hart, 29, both of Columbia Cross Roads through District Court 42-3-01.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper William McDermott said he responded at 8:45 p.m. April 18 to a residence on Big Pond Road in Springfield Township for a report of a physical altercation between a husband and wife. He said both people subjected each other to unwanted physical contact.

Charges filed

State police at Towanda said charges were filed in Magisterial District Court 42-3-01 following a harassment incident that took place at 8:18 p.m. April 12 on Route 14 in Troy Township.

Police said a 17-year-old Troy male shoved the victim in the incident, Victor Paul Chaapel Jr., 56, of Troy, into his vehicle.

Man arrested for DUI

State police at Mansfield said Carl Erich, 27, of Waverly, N.Y. was arrested for DUI, with charges pending through District Court 4-03-03, following an incident at approximately 6:44 p.m. April 16 in the area of Lambs Creek Boat Launch in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pa.

Police said Erich parked his vehicle off the side of the road, and upon contact with him, he was determined to be DUI.

No one injured

State police at Towanda said no one was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:10 p.m. April 18 on North Lake Road in Springfield Township.

According to police, Amanda S. Malone, 18, of Troy, was traveling west on North Lake Road. When negotiating a left curve, she lost control of her Chevrolet Cavalier for unknown reasons, police said. Her vehicle then traveled to the westbound shoulder of the road, and struck a ditch with its front end/front passenger quarter panel area. Police said it then struck a tree and mailboxes with its front end/front passenger quarter panel area on the westbound shoulder of the road. It came to final rest, facing west on North Lake Road, police said.

A passenger in her vehicle wasn't injured, police said.

Police said Malone was charged with a violation of "roadways laned for traffic."
