Moosic man charged with theft, receiving stolen property
According to Towanda state police, David Dominick Valenti, 62, of Moosic, Pa., was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property after failing to repay a customer.
Police said Valenti was contracted by the victim on July 19, 2011 to install a modular home in Wysox Township.
After the home was unable to be installed due to a zoning conflict, the victim requested his $30,000 be refunded by Valenti and his company, Wyoming Homes Inc., police said.
The victim told police Valenti provided excuses as to why he was unable to refund the victim, police said.
Valenti was arraigned April 15 and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
Valenti will appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on May 26 for his preliminary hearing.
Corning man charged after Wysox burglary
Towanda state police charged James Frank Zuke, 46, of Corning, with Burglary, criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, and disorderly conduct after breaking into Jack Williams garage in Wysox on April 11, state police said.
According to police, Zuke's vehicle was taken to the garage for work and then held at the garage after Zuke was unable to pay for the maintenance.
Zuke admitted to entering the garage through a window and to stealing two checks, police said.
Zuke told police he attempted to locate his vehicle's keys so he could drive it from the garage, police said.
Zuke was remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $85,000 bail.
Zuke will appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on May 5 for his preliminary hearing.
DUI charge
The following person was recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Samantha Marion Eberlin, 27, of Sayre, by Athens Township Police, on March 28, on Thomas Avenue in Sayre Borough. Eberlin was also charged with driving with a suspended license. A chemical blood test later revealed a form of bath salts called "flakka" and marijuana in her blood. Eberlin has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton on June 5 for her preliminary hearing.
