Bradford County Court News 5/3/2015

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reports that the following persons were recently sentenced in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Edward Schrader, 65, formerly of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for 20 months to six years, fines of $1,000, plus court costs, restitution of $750. Schrader was sentenced for two counts of Indecent Assault. Officer Sean Flynn of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Schrader in October. Officer Steven Burlingame of the Sayre Borough Police Department charged Schrader in January 2015. Schrader will receive credit for 119 days of time served.

Todd Robinson, 54, of Sayre, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in Bradford County Correctional Facility for 45 days flat, County Intermediate Punishment for 24 months (County Intermediate Punishment involves a combination of restrictions and supervision. It may include home confinement, electronic monitor, and substance abuse treatment. Violations can result in incarceration), fines, costs, restitution of $1,500; he will also lose his driver's license for 18 months, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Officer Joshua Serfas of the Athens Township Police Department arrested Robinson for the offense on Aug. 30, 2014.

Terry Reider, 43, of Towanda, Pa., was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 45 days, to six months, fines, costs, restitution of $750 plus court costs, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Trooper William McDermott of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Reider following investigation of an incident that occurred in Monroe Township.

George Marriott, 33, Rome, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, fines of $340 and court costs for the offense of Simple Assault, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Officer Travis Snyder of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Marriott for the offense in September 2014.

Justin VanBuren, 20, Towanda, Pa., was resentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Pennsylvania State Correctional Facility for four months to 12 months and fines, costs, and restitution of $300 for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property, a misdemeanor of the third degree. Officer Trey Kurtz of the Canton Borough Police Department arrested VanBuren for the offense in April 2014.

Matthew Perry, 26, Athens, Pa., was sentenced to Probation supervision for a term of 12 months, for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police Department arrested Perry following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township.

John Garino, 23, Gillett, Pa., was sentenced to imprisonment in the Bradford County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to five months, 29 days, fines, costs of $1,000, for the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Trooper Peter Federici of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Garino following investigation of an incident that occurred in Troy Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reports that the following persons recently entered guilty pleas in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

William Metzar, 46, Horsham, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Unsworn Falsification, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Metzar was sentenced on June 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Metzar following investigation of an incident that occurred in Albany Township on April 19, 2014.

Matthew McClinko, 21, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of two counts of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, one a misdemeanor, the other, a misdemeanor of the first degree. McClinko will be sentenced on May 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Troopers Christopher Schelling and Brandon Allis, both of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested McClinko following investigation of an incident that occurred in Athens Township on Aug. 31, 2014 and Dec. 6, 2014.

Patrick Gallagher, 24, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor. Gallagher will be sentenced on June 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Robert Hutchison of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Gallagher following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Borough.

Mark Capwell, 20, Rome, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Capwell will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Capwell for the offense in October 2014.

Timothy Belloma, 28, Elmira, N.Y., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia of the second degree. Belloma will be sentenced on June 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Officer Bruce Hoffman of the Sayre Borough Police Department arrested Belloma for the offense in February 2015.

Christopher Allen, 26, Wellsboro, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a felony. Allen will be sentenced on June 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Allen following investigation of an incident that occurred in Towanda Township.

James Buskirk, 29, Ulster, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a felony. Buskirk will be sentenced on June 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Michael Adams of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Allen following investigation of an incident that occurred in Rome Borough.

Timothy House, 19, Sayre, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. House will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Sergeant James Shaw of the Athens Township Police Department arrested House for the offense on Oct. 9, 2014.

John Secor, 21, Towanda, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offenses of two counts of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, one a misdemeanor, the other, a misdemeanor of the first degree. Secor will be sentenced on June 11, 2015, following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper William McDermott of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Secor following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Duane Demellier, 35, Wysox, Pa., entered a plea of guilty to the offense of Failure to Register, a felony. Demellier will be sentenced following preparation of a presentence report by the Bradford County Probation Department. Trooper Miranda Musick of the Pennsylvania State Police arrested Demellier following investigation of an incident that occurred in Wysox Township.

Bradford County District Attorney Daniel J. Barrett reports that the following person was recently accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) Program in the Bradford County Court of Common Pleas, Towanda:

Hailey Chacona, 20, Elmira, N.Y., charged with the offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, was accepted into the ARD Program and placed on Probation for a term of 12 months. While on probation Chacona will be subject to supervision by the Bradford County Probation Department which supervision will include monitoring for drug or alcohol use. Officer Andrew Stevens of the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Chacona for the offense in Athens Borough.
