Unauthorized use of vehicle occurs in Wysox Twp.
At 6:36 p.m. on Friday, two juvenile males took a Chevrolet 1500 truck from an acquaintance in Wysox Township, drove it east on U.S. Route 6, and struck the rear of another vehicle, police said.
The 15-year-old boy who was operating the vehicle, along with his 16-year-old passenger, then fled the scene, police said.
Multiple witnesses of the crash followed the teen-agers and were able to stop their vehicle until authorities arrived, police said.
The operator will be cited with numerous misdemeanor and summary charges, state police at Towanda said.
His passenger, who was in possession of drug paraphernalia, will also be cited with numerous misdemeanor charges, police said.
Towanda girl accidentally shot with BB gun
An 11-year-old Towanda girl was accidentally struck with a BB gun pellet during an incident that occurred in May in Towanda Township, police said.
The gun accidentally discharged when an adult tried to take the gun away from her, and the pellet ricocheted off a concrete surface and struck the child in the leg region, police said. The pellet caused a minor injury to the girl, state police at Towanda said.
An allegation that the girl was intentionally shot with the gun was unfounded, state police said.
Theft occurs in Wysox Twp.
Someone stole an undisclosed amount of money from a 50-year-old Wyalusing man's pants in the Comfort Inn in Wysox Township, police said.
The theft occurred between 4:10 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. on May 16 in the locker room near the pool area, state police said.

Employee accused of stealing from Red Rock Job Corps center
Sean M. Hetsko, 24, of Peckville, Pa., is accused of stealing a $1,000 Walmart gift card from the Red Rock Job Corps center in Colley Township.
Hetsko was an employee of the Job Corps center at the time of the theft, which occurred around Dec. 18, police said.
The Job Corps center was going to use the card to make purchases for their students, police said.
Hetsko used the card at other Walmart locations for his own personal use, state police at Laporte said.
Hetsko was charged Monday with theft by unlawful taking and disposition and receiving stolen property, police said.
DUI charges
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
- Travis John Chesla, 21, of Wysox, by the state police, on May 3 on state Route 2027 in Towanda Township. The charges stem from a motorcycle accident that Chesla was involved in. A blood test revealed that Chesla's blood alcohol content was .087 percent on the day of the accident.
- Samuel Gabe Shoemake, 19, of Sayre, by Sayre Borough police, on May 26, on Spring Street in Sayre. Shoemake has also been charged with corruption of minors and consumption of alcohol by a minor. Shoemake refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content or the presence of controlled substances. Shoemake was arraigned May 26 by Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton and remanded to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Shoemake is scheduled to appear June 4 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
- Jacqueline Lee Lucy, 31, of Athens, by Athens Township police, on May 20, on Riverside Drive in Athens. Lucy has also been charged with reckless driving and careless driving. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Lucy's blood alcohol content was .21 percent on the day of her arrest. Lucy has been sent a summons to appear June 25 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw for a preliminary hearing.
Man arrested on warrant
State police at Towanda recently arrested an Athens man on a warrant.
According to information from state police, Darren Ryan, 24, was charged May 23 with arrest prior to requisition. Police said Ryan was found to have an active warrant out of the Waverly Police Department while incarcerated at the Bradford County Correctional Facility.
Sayre establishment charged with liquor law violation
The state Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement recently charged a Sayre establishment with a liquor law violation.
According to information from the bureau, the Sons of Italy Roma Madre Social Club on Desmond Street received a citation May 23 for failure to have its board-approved manager complete Responsible Alcohol Management Program training within 180 days of the board's approval of the appointment. The violation occurred between Feb. 17 and April 10, 2013, the bureau said.
The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge, according to the bureau.
Sayre man cited following altercation
A Sayre man was recently charged with simple assault by Athens Borough police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Stanley Eugene Platt Jr., 40, was also charged with harassment.
Police said Platt shoved and punched a male victim May 11 outside of Slammerz bar on South Elmira Street.
Drug paraphernalia charges filed
Athens Borough police recently charged an Athens man with three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to papers filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, Peter L. Venegas, 31, was also charged with one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Police said Venegas was found to have a smoking pipe, grinder and digital scales during an investigation into a domestic disturbance at his Dogwood Avenue residence. Police said Venegas was also found to be in possession of 1.7 grams of marijuana.
Venegas' preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 25.
Woman charged with scattering rubbish
State police recently charged a woman with one summary count of scattering rubbish following a May 30 incident in Litchfield Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, the 32-year-old woman, who police did not name, was charged after a male Cotton Hollow Road resident found a trash bag full of garbage on his property. The bag contained discarded mail with the woman's name and address on it, police said.
Ulster man accused of criminal mischief
State police at Towanda recently filed a charge of criminal mischief against an Ulster man following an incident in Smithfield Township.
According to information from state police, James Morris, 26, is accused of shattering a vehicle door window at about 7:05 p.m. May 21 at a Lady Bug Lane location. The charge is pending in district court, police said.
Police investigate theft
State police at Towanda are investigating a theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a Sheshequin Township location.
According to state police, an unknown actor or actors removed the green Kazuma ATV with utility trailer and a 350 engine block from a Hornbrook Road property between 4 p.m. May 27 and 8 a.m. May 29. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at (570) 265-2186.
Woman accused of harassment
State police recently filed a harassment charge against a Columbia Cross Roads woman following a June 1 incident in Ridgebury Township.
According to information from state police at Towanda, Elna Steckel, 71, is accused of swerving at two male victims as they made repairs to a private roadway in the township.
Burglary investigated
State police are investigating the burglary of a hunting cabin in Leroy Township.
According to state police at Towanda, an unknown actor or actors unlawfully entered the CCC Road cabin between February and May. A shotgun was taken from the cabin, police said.

Charges filed in theft
State police at Towanda recently filed charges against two people accused of taking checks from a woman in Canton Township.
According to information from state police, Dawn Hance, 56, and Stanley Baldwin, 62, are accused of taking checks from the victim's checkbook and using them between January and May of this year. Eight checks were taken and forged for a total of $1,364, police said.
Hance and Baldwin both admitted to taking the checks without permission, police said.
Theft charge
An Elmira, N.Y. woman was recently charged with theft by unlawful taking by Athens Township police.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw, April L. Campbell, 31, was also charged with receiving stolen property.
Police said Campbell walked into the Rite-Aid store on Elmira Street on May 25 with only her purse, then approached the cash register after several minutes to return three items without a valid receipt. Police said Campbell returned a DVD player and two bottles of medication totaling $136.57.
Campbell's preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 9.
Bikes stolen and vandalized
Robert James Bump, 18, of Towanda and a 17-year-old juvenile from Albany Township have been charged with theft for stealing two bicycles from a 32-year-old Albany Township female's house.
According to police, the duo damaged both bikes after they stole them on May 13.
Rome woman charged with harassment
Sandra Murray, 52, of Rome has been charged with harassment after threatening a 74-year-old male during a verbal dispute over property and gas pipeline issues on May 30. The incident occurred in Windham Township.
State police report false accusations
State police are reporting that an investigation regarding an adult male who allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old female from December 2012 to present in Windham Township found that the allegations were not substantiated and unfounded.
Texas man charged with underage drinking
A 20-year-old male from Buda, Texas has been charged with underage drinking relating to a May 30 incident in New Albany. Police said they were called to the area on report of traffic violations committed by the accused, and found he was under the influence of alcohol while under the age of 21.
The man was also charged with a stop sign violation.
