Elmira man charged with drug paraphernalia possession
Athens Township Police charged Steffan Jerome Miller, 27, of Elmira, with possession of drug paraphernalia on March 21 at the Fortune Buffet on Elmira Street in Athens, according to Athens police.
Police said they were notified by a patron of the restaurant that his son witnessed a person with what he assumed was drug paraphernalia in the restroom.
Upon arrival, the caller met police outside and told them he entered the restroom after his son exited it and the restroom smelled like someone cooked drugs, police said.
The son exited the restaurant and told police the person was back in the restroom, police said.
Police approached the man, later identified as Miller, while he was in the restroom and asked him where the bag and spoon were, police said.
Miller handed over a metal spoon from his waistband that contained residue, police said.
Miller told police he was using heroin and police took Miller into custody, police said.
Police searched Miller and found two hypodermic needles, three empty wax papers, and a wax paper containing a powdery substance, police said.
Miller has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on July 7 for his preliminary hearing.
Vehicle damaged in Milan
Towanda state police said between May 14 and May 15, an unknown actor or actors damaged a 1999 Dodge Durango on Water Street in Milan.
Police said the vehicle was scratched on the driver and passenger side.

No one injured in Ridgebury accident
A single-car accident occurred on Ridgebury Road May 20 that left the vehicle on its roof, according to Towanda state police.
Police said Amanda M. Howell, 26, of Sayre, was driving east on Ridgebury Road in a 2005 Honda Accord when she lost control while negotiating a downhill left hand curve.
The vehicle struck a ditch on the westbound shoulder with its front end and rolled onto its roof, police said.
Howell's passengers, 20-year-old Dylan T. Wilcox of Chemung and a 17-year-old male from West Point, Texas, were uninjured in the accident.
Howell was cited for failure to obey traffic lanes.
Burglary occurs in Ridgebury
On May 24 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., an unknown actor or actors entered a residence on Berwick Turnpike in Ridgebury Township, according to Towanda state police.
Police said the actor or actors stole multiple containers with prescription medication, two black laptops (one Toshiba, one HPNC) and a black Samsung MP3 player.

Waverly woman facing drug charges
Athens Township Police charged Colleen Patricia Comstock, 21, of Waverly, with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of paraphernalia possession on May 26 at the Valley Shopping Plaza following a traffic stop, according to Athens police.
Police stopped a vehicle in the plaza and observed Comstock, a passenger in the vehicle, to have a knife in her possession, police said.
Comstock showed police the contents of her purse which contained a plastic container with a white powder in it as well as a clear glassine baggie with ice cream cone decals on the bag which also contained a white powder, police said.
Comstock admitted the powder in the container and baggie was bath salts, police said.
After taking Comstock to the Athens Township Police Department, Comstock took two hypodermic needles and another clear bag with the same decals containing white powder out of her underwear area, police said.
Comstock told police the bag contained bath salts, police said.
She also told police she uses bath salts on a regular basis and that she used them earlier that day at her Waverly residence, police said.
Comstock has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on July 7 for her preliminary hearing.
Walmart theft leads to charges
Brittany Marie Greeno, 28, of Sayre, was charged with retail theft by Athens Township Police on May 24 for stealing $201.55 worth of items from the Elmira Street Walmart in Sayre, Athens police said.
Police said Walmart's asset protection associate followed a woman, later identified as Greeno, as she put clothes in her cart.
The associate said Greeno then returned a pair of sandals and purchased a movie at the service desk, police said.
Greeno exited the store without paying for the items in her cart and the associate and a witness confronted Greeno about the unpaid items, police said.
Greeno has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on July 7 for her preliminary hearing.
Athens man charged with assault, harassment
Sayre Borough Police charged Dustin James Clifford Crispell, 25, of Athens, with simple assault and harassment on May 25 after a neighbor called police, Sayre police said.
Police responded to a Desmond Street apartment in Sayre after a resident told police her neighbors were drunk and fighting and when police arrived the caller told police one man was screaming for help, police said.
Upon arrival, the neighbor let police in the building where they heard two male voices coming from an apartment, police said.
After knocking on the door, police said one male began screaming, "Help me, help me, he's beating me," and police forced their way into the apartment.
Crispell told police to arrest him saying, "I'm the bad guy, just arrest me," according to the criminal complaint filed against Crispell.
Police observed the victim knelt down on the living room floor naked and bleeding and Crispell apologized to the victim, police said.
The victim told police he and Crispell were out drinking at a bar when he took Crispell back to his apartment then went back to the bar, police said.
When the victim came home for the night, Crispell began a verbal argument and the victim got in the shower, police said.
The victim told police that was when Crispell became violent and started smashing objects in the bathroom, police said.
The victim told police Crispell ripped down the shower curtain and rod, causing the rod to strike the victim in the face, police said.
The victim alleges Crispell struck him in the face causing bleeding and a contusion under his left eye, police said.
Police observed the mentioned injuries and red marks on his arms, chest, and back, police said.
Crispell has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on June 9 for his preliminary hearing.
Theft of services occurs in Wysox Twp.
Someone, whose identity is unknown, placed bags of trash in the Dollar General's dumpster in Wysox Township, without the store's permission, police said.
This theft of services occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. on April 30 and 10 p.m. on May 2, state police at Towanda said.
