DUI charge

Rene Cruz Salazar, 31, of Dushore, has been charged with DUI and other vehicle code violations relating to a motor vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 706 in Wyalusing Borough on May 10 at approximately 6:24 p.m., according to state police.

Police said Salazar lost control of his vehicle and hit a guardrail on the shoulder of the oncoming lane of travel and flipped down an embankment before coming to rest in a creek.

Police said charges have been filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton.

PFA violation

Lee Michael Carter, 36, of Lawton has been charged with violating a protection from abuse order after state police found that he violated the order placed against him by a 32-year-old from Laceyville.

Police said charges were filed against Carter in relation to the incident that occurred on May 25 in Tuscarora Township.

Dushore man charged for role in car accident

Chad E. Gadsby, 30, of Dushore was cited with a moving violation after police said he struck a 2006 Jeep Patriot on State Route 220 in Dushore.

Police said Gadsby was driving his 2007 Ford Ranger when he ran a red light and impacted a vehicle in the south bound lane of State Route 220 at its intersection with Main Street.

No injuries occurred during the crash, police said.

Cash stolen in Ulster

State police are investigating a report of theft that occurred in Ulster Township on State Route 220 on April 24 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Police said the victim, Karyce Kuhl, 21, of Ulster, had her wallet fall off the roof of a vehicle and cash fell onto State Route 220.

Police said the wallet was located but no money was recovered.

Police investigate theft at Stropes Wrecking Yard

State police are currently investigating a report of theft that occurred at Stropes Wrecking Yard in Burlington Township on May 14.

Police said unknown actors stole cutting torches from the wrecking yard.

Woman injured in crash by post office

State police at Towanda said an Ulster woman had a minor injury in the crash that took place at 3:30 p.m. April 29 on Route 6 at the Burlington Post Office.

Police said Catherine M. Wrisley, 73, of Ulster was traveling east, when her Dodge Durango traveled off the southern shoulder, striking a road work sign and two utility poles.

Police said she was charged with a violation of "driving within single lane."

Man not injured

State police at Towanda said a Columbia Cross Roads man was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 8:30 p.m. April 8 on Route 6 in Burlington Borough.

Police said Kyle L. Stevens, 32, of Columbia Cross Roads lost control of his Ford Escape, which exited the south shoulder of the roadway, traveled through a yard, and struck a traffic sign. After striking the sign, it re-entered the roadway and struck a guide rail, with the passenger side of the vehicle, police said.

According to police, Stevens displayed signs of intoxication during the course of the investigation, and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Police said he was transported to Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital in Towanda for a legal blood draw.

Police said he was charged with a violation of "roadways laned for traffic."

No one injured

State police at Towanda said John R. Beach, 47, of Canton, was not injured in a one-vehicle crash that took place at 6 p.m. April 21 on Route 14 in Canton Township.

According to police, the crash occurred as he was traveling north on Route 14 in his 2010 Kawasaki tractor-trailer and was negotiating a right curve at a high rate of speed. Police said he lost control of the vehicle, striking a utility pole. Police said the vehicle flipped onto its driver's side.

Police said Beach was charged with a violation of "driving too fast for conditions."

 

Man faces hearing on harassment

Gary Jeffrey Page, 42, of Millerton, faces a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. June 3 before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy on a charge of harassment for incidents that took place various times between Jan. 3 and Feb. 11 in Canton Township in which he is accused of sending 182 text messages to a female victim, according to court papers.

The papers noted that he was told repeatedly by the victim to stop contacting her.
