DUI charges
The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:
Margot E. Chilson, 51, of Waverly, by Sayre Borough Police, on March 28, on Yanuzzi Drive in Sayre Borough. Chilson was also charged failure to use turn signals, failure to obey stop signs, possession of controlled substance, and access device fraud. A blood chemical test later revealed 38 nanograms per milliliter of Alpha-PVP, an analogous chemical to a main chemical found in bath salts, in Chilson's blood. Chilson will appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on July 17 for her preliminary hearing.
Susan M. Keener, 50, of Athens, by Sayre Borough Police, on April 5, on Madison Street in Sayre Borough. A blood alcohol test later revealed that Keener's blood alcohol content was .213 percent on the day of her arrest. Keener has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on June 17 for her preliminary hearing.
Travis Michael Ruvolo, 24, of Sayre, by Athens Borough Police, on May 3, on Wells Avenue in Athens Borough. Ruvolo was also charged with careless driving, driving at unsafe speeds, failure to obey stop signs, and following too closely. A blood alcohol test later reveal Ruvolo's blood alcohol content was .143 percent on the day of his arrest. Ruvolo has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on July 17 for his preliminary hearing.
Eric Wade Johnson, 37, of Washington, Pa., by Athens Borough Police, on May 3, on West Pine Street in Athens Borough. Johnson was also charged with failure to obey traffic signals. A blood alcohol test later revealed Johnson's blood alcohol content was .247 percent on the day of his arrest. Johnson has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on July 17 for his preliminary hearing.
Brock E. Stillman, 31, of Waverly, by Sayre Borough Police, on October 24, 2014, on Cayuta Street in Sayre Borough. Stillman was also charged with driving in excess of the maximum speed limit. A blood chemical test later revealed 35 nanogram per milliliter of Alpha-PVP, an analogous chemical to a main chemical found in bath salts, in Stillman's blood as well as 9.1 nanograms per milliliter of THC in his blood. Stillman has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on July 17 for his preliminary hearing.
Barnesville man charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct
Sayre Borough Police charged Wayne E. Sitzer, 35, of Barnesville, Pa., with simple assault and disorderly conduct after an incident near a liquor store on Elmira Street in Sayre on April 18.
According to reports, Sayre police were dispatched to assist Athens Township Police with an unwanted person, later identified as Sitzer, at the store.
Police said Sitzer was stumbling and almost fell in the roadway and told them he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
When they attempted to place Sitzer in custody, Sitzer pulled away and took a defensive stance with his fists clenched, police said.
Sitzer was placed on the ground and handcuffed then taken to Athens Township Police Department where he again took a fighting stance and attempted to strike an officer, police said.
Sitzer was tasered after failing to comply with their orders, police said.
While in the holding cell, Sitzer was yelling for his girlfriend and told police "I know you're hiding her," despite his girlfriend never being with him then, police said.
Greater Valley EMS took Sitzer to Robert Packer Hospital after police noticed Sitzer sweating profusely, and while in the ambulance, Sitzer attempted to bite an EMT several times, police said.
At RPH, Sitzer again began yelling for his girlfriend and claimed he was the "God of Thor as well as other things that a rational person wouldn't say," according to the criminal complaint filed against Sitzer.
Police said Sitzer also threatened to kill RPH employees if they injected him with anything.
Sitzer has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District judge Michael Shaw on July 14 for his preliminary hearing.
Drug paraphernalia charges for Sayre woman
Casey Marie Stillman, 21, of Sayre, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia by Sayre Borough Police following a May 11 incident.
Police said they approached Stillman after noticing she was driving a car that had been previously reported stolen.
When speaking to Stillman, police said they observed a cigarette pack with needle caps and other drug paraphernalia inside.
Stillman indicated there was a backpack in the vehicle and police said they found needles, a spoon, and other drug paraphernalia items in the backpack.
Stillman told police she had a needle in her bra as well, and told them she needed help for her drug use.
Stillman has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on June 30 for her preliminary hearing.
Sayre woman facing corruption of minors, alcohol-related charges
Athens Borough Police charged Anita Dawn Evans, 20, of Sayre, with corruption of minors, furnishing alcohol to minors, and underage drinking, according to Athens police.
Police noticed two males - one a juvenile - and 19-year-old Kody James Konco, walking on the street past curfew on May 19 and found a bottle of vodka on Konco, police said.
The Konco told police they were drinking at Evans' apartment in Sayre.
Later, while being questioned at her apartment, Evans told police she and the males were drinking and police found a similar bottle of vodka on Evans' kitchen counter, according to the report.
She told police the bottle Konco had was from her freezer, police said.
Evans has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on July 17 for her preliminary hearing.
Sayre man charged with paraphernalia possession
Athens Township Police charged Daniel Lawrence Heller, 21, of Sayre, with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia following a May 24 traffic stop, Athens police said.
Police stopped a car in the Valley Shopping Plaza where they found Heller in the passenger seat, police said.
Police said Heller told police that two Walmart bags in the car where his and police found six hypodermic syringes, a case with glassine baggies with ice cream cone decals on the baggies, and a torch.
Police said Heller appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic and Heller told police he used bath salts with other passengers in the vehicle before the traffic stop.
Heller told police he stole socks from Walmart before the traffic stop, as well.
Heller has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on May 30 for his preliminary hearing.
Waverly man facing harassment, disorderly conduct, and drug charges
Dustin Tyler Miller, 30, of Waverly, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a small amount of marijuana on May 26 after being dispatched to a Sayre apartment where Miller was unwanted, Sayre police said.
Miller was observed walking when they stopped him and arrested him for harassment and disorderly conduct, police said.
Police also found a sandwich bag with a substance that tested positive for marijuana, according to the report.
The reported victims said that Miller pounded the door of the apartment and refused to leave the porch of their residence, police said.
Police said they have dealt with Miller six times since the start of the year, with all incidents being related to the victims.
Miller has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on July 7 for his preliminary hearing.
Sayre man charged with obstructing police, corruption of minors
Sayre Borough police charged Joseph Tompson Dewey, 29, of Sayre, with corruption of minors, obstructing the administration of law, and disorderly conduct on May 29, Sayre police said.
Police were notified by a 17-year-old girl's mother that her daughter was at Dewey's residence on Westbrook Street in Sayre despite her being forbidden to go there due to believed drug activity, police said.
A younger sister attempted to get the 17-year-old from the residence, police said, but Dewey refused to let the girl speak to her sister and slammed the door in her face.
When police arrived, they met the mother and approached the residence together where Dewey answered the door and told them the daughter was not inside, police said.
Police said Dewey did not allow police to look inside the residence for the girl and started to walk away when police grabbed Dewey's arm believing he was going to run from them.
Dewey pulled away, said police were invading his space, started yelling and backing away, police said.
Police said Dewey dropped to the ground in the carport and began to convulse then grabbed a cooler to reach inside, then police placed Dewey in handcuffs.
Police searched the rear of the apartment complex and found the daughter hiding in a utility closet and they also found another woman in the residence who told police she saw the daughter smoke synthetic marijuana in the residence, police said.
Police found a glass pipe with a green leafy substance inside as well as a packet of synthetic marijuana outside the residence, police said.
Dewey was remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Dewey will appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on June 9 for his preliminary hearing.
Police investigate Wyalusing business burglary
State police are investigating the report of a burglary that occurred at Sanford and Son Antiques on State Street in Wyalusing Borough between the hours of 8 p.m. and 10:26 a.m. the night of May 30 and May 31.
Police said an unknown person forcibly entered the location and removed cash from the register.

Charges pending against New Albany man
According to state police, Dustin Lee Turner, of New Albany was arrested on suspicion of DUI relating to an incident on State Route 220 in Cherry Township on April 18. Police said charges are currently pending in the Sullivan County District Court.
Criminal mischief in Rome Twp.
State police are reporting that on the night of May 28 or the early morning of May 29, an unknown person damaged a vehicle belonging to Samantha Teeter, 24, of Ulster while her car sat on the shoulder of Battle Creek Road in Rome Township.

Property stolen in Wilmot Twp.
State police are investigating a report of theft that occurred on Cotter Road in Wilmot Township at approximately 12:20 p.m. on May 4.
According to police, an unknown person stole a Multiquip Thumper construction rammer and a red Honda Generator before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

Door damaged
Michelle Boyer, 24, no address given, told state police at Towanda that someone unknown damaged the rear door to her residence at 10:30 p.m. May 22 in the 1100 block of Redington Avenue in Troy Borough.

Door dented
State police at Towanda said Albey Braster, Jr., 56, of Gillett, intentionally dented a door on the 2000 Chevy Cavalier of Melissa Hadlock, 50, of Gillett, and put sugar in the vehicle's tank sometime between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. May 17 at a residence on Roaring Run Road in South Creek Township.
Vehicle strikes deer
State police at Towanda reported a crash that occurred May 20 on Route 6 in West Burlington Township in which a 2004 Buick Rainier struck a deer with its front-end area and came to final rest facing east on the shoulder of Route 6.
The name of the driver in the crash, which occurred 607 feet east of Pisgah Road, was not provided.
People arrested
State police at Towanda said they were dispatched to a domestic incident in which a verbal argument was allowed to become physical at approximately 1 a.m. May 18 on the Berwick Turnpike in Springfield Township.
According to police, a 34-year-old Milan woman was arrested for physical contact and a 43-year-old Milan man was arrested for threatening physical harm.
Police did not provide the names of the people.
Narcotics stolen
State police at Towanda said they are investigating the theft of controlled narcotics from a county facility located in West Burlington Township that occurred between April 13 and May 7.
Police did not identify the facility.
DUI stop made
State police at Towanda said a 45-year-old Canton man was stopped for suspicion of DUI at 7:17 p.m. May 4 on Minnequa Main Road in Alba Borough.
Police said an investigation continues.
