Driver uninjured after hitting deer
Andrew Jelliff, 22, of Columbia Crossroads, was heading north on the Berwick Turnpike in Smithfield Township on June 4 at about 7:15 a.m. when a deer ran out in front of the 2015 Ford F150 he was driving, Towanda state police said.
Jelliff hit the deer and the truck sustained disabling front damage but Jelliff was able to move the truck off the roadway, police said.
Jelliff was uninjured in the accident and was wearing a seatbelt.
East Smithfield residence burglarized
An apartment in East Smithfield was burglarized between May 14 and May 24 according to Towanda state police.
Police said between those dates, the actor forced the victim's apartment door open and entered the residence and damaged the door and its frame in the process
Police are investigating the incident.
Harassment in Ulster
Towanda state police said a 17-year-old Athens woman is accused of harassing a 19-year-old Ulster man on May 4 in Ulster.
Police said on that date, the pair were involved in a verbal argument which turned physical.
Athens American Legion cited for gambling
Towanda state police said on March 28, the Fort Sullivan Post No. 246 American Legion in Athens Borough violated its liquor license by possessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on the premises.
Police said the citation was issued May 28 and the charges will be brought before an Administrative Law Judge who can impose a penalty ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses or up to $5,000 for more serious offenses and also suspend the liquor license or revoke it based on the severity of the charge.
Waverly man charged with marijuana possession, public drunkenness
Brandon J. Moore, 29, of Waverly, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and public drunkenness on June 3 by Sayre Borough Police after receiving reports of an intoxicated person at the Kwik Fill on Keystone Avenue in Sayre, Sayre police said.
Police responded to the gas station where they found Moore extremely intoxicated and unsteady on his feet with difficulty walking, police said.
Moore told police he was looking for a ride home and called police for a ride, police said.
Police agreed to drive Moore home, but told him he needed to be searched prior to entering the patrol car, police said.
Moore consented and police found a small bag of marijuana in Moore's wallet and confiscated it then drove Moore home, police said.
Moore has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw on July 28 for his preliminary hearing.
Wysox man accused of slapping and abusing child
Charges are being filed by state police against Stephen Bert Gordon III, 22, of Wysox, who is accused of slapping and shoving a 4-year-old child on June 2 on Tulip Lane in Wysox Township, according to a press release from police.
Police investigate burglary in Monroe Twp.
State police are currently investigating a report of a burglary that occurred on May 28 at 12:58 p.m. at a property on the 100 block of March Hill Road in Monroe Township.
According to police, an unknown person entered the property without authorization and removed a broken water heater without permission.

Criminal mischief in Monroe Township
An unknown person is suspected of throwing a rock through an upstairs window of a property owned by Wayne Williams, 42, on the 3500 block of Liberty Corners Road in Towanda.
Police said the incident occurred on June 1 between midnight and 6:20 a.m.

Man charged in domestic disturbance
Nicholas B. Hadlock, 31, of Stevensville has been charged with harassment relating to a May 31 incident on Helly Hill Road in Pike Township.
Police said Hadlock was arrested after he became involved in a domestic disturbance that became physical. The victim was a 29-year-old female from Stevensville, police said.
Drunken man tries to start fights at bar
Sean M. O'Connor, 26, of Wyalusing has been charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication relating to an incident that occurred on June 2 at approximately 10:45 p.m. at the Wyalusing Hotel in Wyalusing Borough.
Police said O'Connor was arrested after he began causing disturbances and attempted to fight with bar patrons and workers.
Man accused of aggravated assault
A Towanda man has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark to answer a charge of aggravated assault.
According to information filed in Clark's office, Zachary James West, 24, has also been charged by Towanda police with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, and harassment. West has been accused of striking Cody Bruns on May 3 at a private residence during an altercation, breaking Bruns' jaw in the process. Police said they spoke to Bruns at Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for extensive injuries, in which he gave an account of what had happened by writing the information down. Police said they eventually interviewed West as well as witnesses who had been at the scene when the incident occurred, and eventually filed charges against the accused as a result of their investigation.
West's preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 26 before Judge Clark.
Criminal mischief reported
State police are investigating an incident of criminal mischief that occurred recently in Asylum Township.
According to state police, an unknown person deliberately scratched a vehicle owned by Andrew Cornelius, 37, of Port Arthur, Texas, as it was parked in the Gemma Power Services parking lot. Police said the incident occurred between 1 and 5 p.m. on May 18.

Theft investigated
The theft of a trailer was recently discovered from the parking lot of the North Towanda Township garage.
According to state police, the incident occurred between 9 a.m. on May 13 and noon on May 20. Police said one of the township employees discovered that a black carry-on utility trailer owned by North Towanda was missing from the lot.
