Woman charged with simple assault
A Towanda woman has been issued a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark to answer a charge of simple assault.
According to information filed in Clark's office, Melissa Lochner, 32, has also been charged by Towanda police with harassment by physical contact. Lochner is accused of striking and injuring her husband, John Lochner on May 7 at their residence during an altercation, injuring him in the process.
Melissa Lochner is scheduled to appear before Judge Clark on June 24 for her preliminary hearing.
Two charged with criminal mischief
Two people were cited by borough police recently on a charge of criminal mischief.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark, Luis Martinez Jr., 32, of Towanda, and Kevin Josue Gomez, 32, of Towanda have also each been charged by Towanda police with disorderly conduct. Both have been accused in an incident in which a door at 17 State St., Towanda, was forced open by a person using a pry bar. Police determined from the building's landlord that the door had been damaged to the point it would no longer close. Police said they determined from reports that Martinez and Gomez had been in the area during the incident, and both men were charged after they were interviewed.
Both men have been sent a summons to appear before Judge Clark on June 24.
Man accused of simple assault
A Gillett man has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark to answer a charge of simple assault.
According to papers filed at Clark's office, Brandon Michael Davis, 27, has also been charged by state police with harassment. Davis is accused of striking Brian Joe Rought in the face on May 13 at a private residence in Burlington Township, injuring him in the process.
Davis is scheduled to appear for his preliminary hearing before Judge Clark on July 8.
Three cited for endangerment
Three people were cited by the state police recently on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
According to state police, Arthur Senay Jr., 28, of Dushore, Anastasia Lynne Hadick, 20, of Dushore, and Kenneth Nelson Fontanez, 21, of Dushore, were each cited for the above offense following an incident on May 29. On that date, police continued, a 3-year-old girl was found walking unsupervised with a dog, up the middle of Dutch Mountain Road in Colley Township, Sullivan County. Police said they learned during their investigation that the girl had left the residence she was staying at, after her father had left the premises while the child's mother and her boyfriend slept inside.
Dandy cited
State police reported recently issuing a citation against the Dandy Mini Mart on Golden Mile Road in Wysox Township for control of alarm devices.
According to police, the incident occurred when the Dandy allowed or permitted more than three false alarms to occur on the premises in a consecutive 12-month period.
Theft reported
State police are looking for the thief who recently stole a staple gun from Arey Building Supply in Wysox Township.
Police said the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on June 3. The suspect, described as a male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing black jeans and a black sleeveless shirt, entered the store and put a staple gun in his pants. The man then left the store and rode away on a bicycle. Anyone with information about the incident is requested to contact the state police at (570) 265-2186.
DUI charges
The following people were recently cited in Bradford County for driving while under the influence:
Kyle Lee Stevens, 32, of Columbia Cross Roads, was also charged by state police with crossing the center lane of traffic, operating a vehicle at an unsafe speed, and careless driving. Stevens was charged following an accident investigation on April 8 on U.S. Route 6 in Burlington Borough. After being taken into custody for DUI, Stevens was transported to Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital in Towanda where he agreed to submit to a blood test. The test eventually revealed that Stevens' blood alcohol content was .074 percent on the day of his arrest. Stevens has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark on June 19.
Raymond Sandfort, 47, of Monroeton, was cited for the above offense by Towanda police following a traffic stop on April 28 on Main Street in Towanda Borough. After being taken into custody, Sandfort was transported to Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital where he agreed to submit to a blood test. The test eventually revealed that Sandfort's blood alcohol content was .157 percent on the day of his arrest. Sandfort has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark on June 19.
Jorge Antonio Lemus Villatoro, 36, of Westminster, Md., has also been charged by state police with crossing the center line of traffic, exceeding the maximum speed limit, and careless driving. Villatoro was charged on April 18, following a traffic stop on Packer Avenue in Towanda Borough. After being taken into custody for DUI, Villatoro was transported to Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital where he agreed to a blood test. The test eventually revealed that Villatoro's blood alcohol content was .151 percent on the day of his arrest.
Villatoro has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Tim Clark on June 19.
