Woman sets fire to valuables

Brittany Lynn Evans, 22, of Towanda has been charged with criminal mischief after allegedly setting fire to items belonging to Haley Edsell that were valued at approximately $575, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred on May 22 on Main Street in Towanda Borough.

Police interviewed Evans the same day as the incident, during which she denied any involvement. After interviewing her again on July 15, Evans told police "she may have been responsible for the damage" but also said she couldn't remember.

Police subsequently filed charges at the office of Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark.

Evans is scheduled to appear before Judge Clark at 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 26 for a preliminary hearing.

Man charged after assault at a Towanda bar

George Louis Heskell, 41, of Wyalusing has been charged with simple assault and harassment relating to a June 27 incident at The New Bucket Bar in Towanda Township.

According to police, Heskell struck a man with a closed fist without saying anything to him, resulting in a bloody nose.

Heskell admitted to punching the man in the face, police said.

He has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 19 for a preliminary hearing.

DUI charges

The following people were recently charged with driving while under the influence in Bradford County:

Erica Tiffany Parkhurst, 26, of Rome, by state police, on June 13, on Route 6 near State Route 187 in Wysox Township. Parkhurst was also charged with careless driving. A blood test later revealed that Parkhurst's blood alcohol content was .167 percent on the day of her arrest. Parkhurst has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 10:30 a.m. on July 31 for a preliminary hearing.

Joseph Warren Robinson, 56, of Laceyville, by state police, on June 6, on Spring Hill Road in Tuscarora Township. Robinson was also charged with failing to stay in his lane and careless driving. A blood test later revealed that Robinson's blood alcohol content was .157 percent on the day of his arrest. Robinson has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 10:30 a.m. on July 31 for a preliminary hearing.

Dwayne Edward Colter, 51, of Monroeton, by state police, on June 13, on State Route 187 in Wysox Township. Colter was also charged with recklessly endangering another person, failing to stay in his lane, driving at an unsafe speed, reckless driving and careless driving. A blood test later revealed that Colter's blood alcohol content was .185 percent on the day of his arrest. Colter has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 10:30 a.m. on July 31 for a preliminary hearing.

Matthew Michael Partridge, 24, of Wyalusing, by state police, on Sept. 4, 2014, on Wyalusing New Albany Road in Terry Township. Partridge was also charged with failing to stay in his lane and driving at an unsafe speed. A blood test later revealed that Partridge's blood alcohol content was .143 percent on the night of his arrest. Partridge has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 10:30 a.m. on July 31 for a preliminary hearing.

Edward Fitzgerald Francis III, 31, of Towanda, by Towanda Borough Police Department, on July 4, on York Avenue in Towanda Borough. Francis was also charged with failing to wear a seat belt, driving without a license, failing to stay in his lane and careless driving. A blood test later revealed that Francis' blood alcohol content was .136 percent on the day of his arrest. Francis has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 9 a.m. on Aug. 24 for a preliminary hearing.

Kevin Rae Coon, 66, of Monroeton, by state police, on June 13, on Shaw Boulevard in Monroeton. Coon was also charged with public drunkenness and careless driving. A blood test later revealed that Coon's blood alcohol content was .274 percent on the day of his arrest. Coon has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 for a preliminary hearing.

Robin Stratford Warman, 56, of Elmira, N.Y., by state police, on June 20, on Route 6 in Burlington Township. Warman was also charged with failing to stay in her lane and careless driving. A blood test later revealed that Warman was under the influence of a combination of drugs, including Baclofen and Clonazepam. Warman has been sent a summons to appear before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark at 9 a.m. on Aug. 28 for a preliminary hearing.
