Theft by deception
State police at Towanda said they are investigating a complaint by an 83-year-old Columbia Cross Roads woman of theft by deception and home improvement fraud that occurred in May-August 2013 in Springfield Township.
According to police, the woman entered into a verbal agreement with a contractor to have her barn dismantled and the wood re-sold for profit. However, the contractor allegedly failed to reimburse her the amount of money he received for the wood removed from her property, police said.
BB gun found
State police at Towanda said a black Taurus BB gun was found at 8:15 a.m. Sept. 1 on Berry Road in Springfield Township as it lay on the roadside.
