Four charged with larceny in Waverly
Village of Waverly Police arrested four youths for petit larceny following investigation into a number of larcenies of items from several vehicles within the Village of Waverly, during the overnight hours on Oct. 10, Waverly Police said.
The arrests occurred at 3 a.m. on Oct. 10 after police located the suspects stealing items from unlocked vehicles, police said.
Police said Daniel Heller, 21, of Sayre, and three other male youths - ages 16, 17 and 18 from the Nichols and Sayre areas - were all charged with misdemeanor petit larceny.
All four were issued appearance tickets to appear in the Village of Waverly Justice Court for further legal action, police said.
Police would like to remind persons to lock their vehicles.
Lockwood, N.Y. woman facing drug charge
Amber Sue Chandler, 25, of Lockwood, N.Y., was charged with possession of a controlled substance by Athens Township Police on Oct. 4 following a strip search at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, Athens police said.
Chandler was arrested at the Milltown Fire Department in Sayre Borough on Oct. 4 on a felony warrant for her arrest, police said.
Chandler was transported to the Bradford County Correctional Facility where a female officer conducted a strip search and found a pill that Chandler said was Vicodin under Chandler's left breast, police said.
The pill is a Schedule III controlled substance for which Chandler did not have a prescription, police said.
Chandler was remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
Chandler waived her preliminary hearing and will be formally arraigned Nov. 2 at the Bradford County Courthouse.
Wire taken
State police at Towanda said a burglary took place sometime between 12:01 a.m. Sept. 18 and 8 a.m. Oct. 2 on Easy Street in Smithfield Township.
Police said the victim in the incident was Luther Theodore Wrisley, no age given, of Troy. According to police, someone unknown entered an unlocked portion of his garage, removed some miscellaneous copper wire and several rolls of electrical wire, and then fled undetected.
Fraud reported
State police at Towanda said someone used the credit card of Mark Kerr, no age given, of Gillett, sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 1 on Ameigh Valley Road in Wells Township, and made fraudulent purchases, and fled the scene undetected.
An investigation is continuing, police said.
Items stolen
State police at Towanda said they are investigating a burglary in which someone unknown entered the residence of Larry S. Hall, 64, of Columbia Cross Roads, through a window, and stole several items, sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Oct. 2 on Sylvan Ridge Lane in Springfield Township, and fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
Police said the following items were stolen: a Marlin .30-30 lever action rifle with wood stock; an H&R 20-gauge, single shot, break action shotgun with wood stock; and a pair of gray, low-cut cowboy boots.

Woman charged
State police at Mansfield said Amber Best, 26, of Columbia Cross Roads shoplifted items totaling $63.78, Oct. 5, from the Wal-Mart in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pa., and was charged with retail theft through District Court 04-3-03.
Window broken
State police at Towanda said someone unknown broke a window on a truck cap, mounted to a vehicle, in an incident that took place sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 2 on Southside Road in Canton Township, and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Police said the victim is a 25-year-old man who lives on Ellenton Mountain Road, Canton.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
Gas can stolen
State police at Towanda said they are investigating an incident in which someone unknown forcefully entered a barn owned by Jacob H. Wrisley, 67, of Troy, sometime between 9 a.m. Sept. 26 and 2 p.m. Oct. 27 on Wallace Road in West Burlington Township, and stole one full 2.5 gallon gas can.

Chainsaw removed
State police at Towanda said someone entered the property of James Crown, 67, of Rome, and removed a chainsaw sometime between 4 p.m. Sept. 3 and 5 p.m. Sept. 16 on LeRaysville Road in Warren Township, and fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
Police said an investigation is continuing, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186.
Pills taken
State police at Towanda said someone entered the residence of a 53-year-old Canton Township man at 7:42 p.m. Oct. 9 on Rockledge Lane in Canton Township, and subsequently stole numerous prescription pills from an open dresser drawer, and fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
Charges to be filed
State police at Towanda said a traffic stop was made on a 24-year-old Canton man at 5:48 p.m. Oct. 3 on Route 14, north of West Union Street, in Canton, for multiple traffic violations.
Police said the operator, who was not identified by name, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. According to police, charges will be filed.
Rifle taken
State police at Towanda said someone unknown gained access into a storage shed sometime between 6 p.m. Sept. 30 and 6 a.m. Oct. 1 on Southside Road in LeRoy Township, and removed two rifles.
Police said the rifles were a Remington .243 caliber model 788 rifle, with a 3x9 scope, and a Marlin .22 caliber rifle, with a 4 power scope.
According to police, the victim is Dale Petty, 74, of Canton.
Police said an investigation is continuing.
