Towanda woman faces drug charges
Jennifer Jean Devine, 39, of Towanda and another defendant are accused of selling 10 Oxycodone pills to a third individual in the Colonial Plaza parking lot in North Towanda Township, police said.
As a result of this incident, Devine was charged with conspiracy to possess Oxycodone with intent to deliver, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
The sale of the drug occurred on Dec. 11, state police at Towanda said.
Devine's preliminary hearing on the charges, which had been scheduled for Aug. 7 in Towanda District Court, has been postponed to Aug. 28.
The other defendant in the case, 22-year-old Jack Tyler Williams of Towanda, is facing the same charges as Devine.
Williams, who lives on Sayre Street, is also known as Jack Tyler Maloney.
The charges against Devine were filed on July 31 in Towanda District Court. The charges against Williams had been filed earlier.
Fugitive from justice arrested in Dushore
William Thomas Stride, 41, of Dushore was recently arrested in Dushore on an outstanding warrant from the Commonwealth of Virginia, Augusta County, police said.
Stride had fled from Virginia after felony charges had been filed for grand larceny, police said.
Stride was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 5 at a location on Center Street in Dushore, police said.
Stride was charged with arrest prior to requisition and arraigned in Laporte District Court, police said.
Stride was then sent to the Columbia County jail on $50,000 bail until the Augusta County Sheriff's Department extradites him, police said.
Stride also has an address in Stuarts Draft, Va., state police at Laporte said.
Towanda man cited for harassment
Andrew Bailey, 25, of Towanda was cited for the summary offense of harassment after he allegedly slapped a three-year-old girl across the face approximately two times, police said.
The incident occurred sometime between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. on July 29 at a location along Tomahawk Road in North Towanda Township, state police at Towanda said.
Towanda man charged with access device fraud
Ray Alan Pace, 29, of Towanda is accused of withdrawing a total of $5,940 from his grandfather's bank account, without his grandfather's permission, police said.
Pace withdrew the money in amounts of up to $300 at various times between May and July, police said. Pace made the withdrawals at an ATM machine at the C&N Bank, Towanda police said.
As a result of these incidents, Pace has been charged with the first-degree misdemeanor of access device fraud, police said.
Pace was arraigned by Towanda Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark on Aug. 2.
Pace was then released on non-monetary bail.
Pace must attend a preliminary hearing before Judge Clark today (Wednesday).
Troy man charged with Megan's Law violations
Charles Todd Malenke, 47, of Troy has been charged with two violations of Megan's Law, both of which are second-degree felonies, police said.
Malenke failed to verify his information during one of his quarterly verifications, which is dated May 23 to June 1, 2013, police said. As a Tier 3 offender, Malenke is required to verify his information and be photographed on a quarterly basis, police said.
Malenke also failed to provide accurate employment information during his last quarterly verification, police said. Malenke has not been employed with his registered employer, Otis Pipeline, since April 8, 2012, police said.
